GoldenVanilla, take some photos when you visit the Big Apple next week. There is a Swedish or Scandinavian House in New York. Hope you be able to visit the place during your visit. What is your opinion of the website www.whoa.nu? It is a Swedish Hip-Hop site.
I will if I have the time... I'll spend most of it shopping. Oh you know about whoa? I was a member on that site a couple of years ago, it's ok, but i am not so much into talking about music, I just wanna listen to it I am looking for the best hiphop club in NY, anyone who knows?
I think I have found my ideal vacation destination. I would like to go to Sweden next year. My only concern is that I might "go native" - and not return to the United States. I am deeply intrigued by the notion that successful African-American Men are more welcomed in Sweden than in the U.S. .
I plan to learn the language as best I can. Most importantly, I'm going to try and engineer the perfect itinerary. I'm going to let travel consultants take all of the guess work out. I'll tell them what I want, and they'll design it for me.
You are correct GL : Swedes learn English in 3rd grade - I acctually think its earlier these days. Anyone under at least 60-65 is guaranteed to speak English. Most speak fluntly enough for you to have an unhampered convo - you just have to stay away from most slang and coloquialism to make sure they follow you. Dont speak so fast and you be perfectly fine. We have subtitles on everything on TV, and most shows are either American or Brittish so, yes, nonoe should worry about the language in Sweden or any oyther Nordic country for that matter, you dont have to speak a lick of the language, youll get by perfectly. Although you score points if you do speak some of the local language;-)
Yeah, I found this to be the case with Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland... they're very clever peeps those Europeans!
Ah, no big deal Jyst by default a must - as if you travel 500 miles, they speak a different language. If you dont know English, you cant do business. Henche...... (Hey look, I got to use one of my favorite words...hence)
