Question to the webmaster about personals.

    Could we get some stats on people hooking up or sending emails to each other on the personals? So Far, I have seen at least two women that I would love to :smt008. I don't know if they are fakes or real. Heck one of them is catholic! It is real hard to find that. Thanks for the help!

    Well, it's the area of the site that takes up most of my time-- approving ads and answering questions. There are typically 5 to 20 new ads submitted per day. I (or a personals moderator) delete any ads that are obviously bogus and then have to edit out full names, addresses, phone numbers, approve photos, etc.

    Posting an ad is free, responding to one is not. The money paid to respond to ads supports both the personals and the forum. Currently, once the initial email is sent all further communication happens off-site, but that will soon change to online mailboxes in addition to "winks" and a few other upgrades.

    I have received a few emails from folks who have met through the personals. Three were about getting married. That's over a period of years and usually came up after a support question was answered. So I can't really give you real stats on relationships. It's really what you say in the email that matters.

    The first emails are recorded to weed out troublemakers if someone complains, but the stats on that would be vague-- because there are some individuals who communicate with multiple people. So 1000 emails could have been sent by 300 people over a month to 980 ads. But those kinds of stats are not recorded. It will only alarm if one person sends too many emails, typically cutting and pasting to multiple ads.

    I can't say how many paid members there are as that would be divulging financial information about the site.

    on the real tho, i seen a few girls that caught me eye too (pretty girl from South Carolina).

    Hope things turn out for you man.

    can't say I blame you for questioning webbie tho..gotta make sure this aint like Craigslist lol

    I HATE when people use celebs as their pix. It's funny when you actually recognize the celebrity too...lol

    Why can't people just be themselves? Don't post on a personal ad/dating site then. It's sad.

    Hmmm wonder what the ad placer looks like? When she shows for the first date if it's not even near the woman in that pic she doesn't think there is gonna be a problem. :???: Pffft why bother.

    Interesting... I sometimes forget that there is a whole 'nother side to this site, that being personals. Interesting to hear also that the personals use up so much more of your time than the forum. This site must be your full-time job is it webbie? What ever the case, I am glad we have these forums!

    The site is part of a larger business and needs a serious face-lift + rework of the personals. I wish I could spend all my time on one site.
