Movies/TV that hint IR but then drop it in the middle.

    Spoilers ahead.

This is about movies,tv, etc. that show hints of IR realtionships but the producers decide to Axe half way through the series. The BM/WW either leave the show, get killed off(fairly common), or the relationship stops for no reason at all.

Teen Titans - In the beginning of the show it is implied that Raven and Cyborg like each other(watch Car Trouble and FEAR). It would make sense with Robin/Starfire Terra/BeastBoy, so why not? Well after Terra dies they decide to hint BeastBoy/Raven instead and Cyborg gets some love interest in the past in ONE episode. This leaves Cyborg out to dry.

Static Shock- I never seen the show but heard that his love interest was a white girl then they decided to replace her with a black girl instead. Way to make it obvious

X-Men Evolution - Evan/Spyke gets NO love interest at all. It kinda of shows him caring for Rouge but they decide to kick Evan off the show via having him leave the main cast. Oh, they bring Gambit instead.

Heroes- Nikki’s husband (who is black) gets shot in the first season, and its not even a heroic death. Well at least we see his son.

Weeds - In the first 3 seasons it is obvious that Conrad and Nancy are more than just friends. Though not only do the producers not pursue their relationship they don't have sex at all through the show. Why would I point this out? Nancy f***kd almost every other guy in the show(none of them being black) could I at least get a flashback? Conrad instead gets Nancy's friend(who is not as good looking as Nancy and only slept with him to spite her husband), also we never see Conrad again after season 3.

CSI – Catherine likes Warrick but he has a wife. I had hopes after he divorces her, but sadly Warrick gets killed. I know the actor who played him wanted to get off the show, but did they have to kill him(he couldn’t quit like Sara)

IRobot – I know this is an action movie but white actors get to bang the girl and save the world in a movie like this. Not the black heroes though…..unless she is black herself.

Handcock – This movie speaks for itself.

Hitch- I heard a rumor that Cameron Diaz was to play Will Smith’s love interest in the movie, but the producer thought it would be too controversial and instead chose Eva Mendes. Go figure.

The Pelican Brief and Virtuosity – I blame these on Denzel himself though maybe I could understand with so BW who love him so much.

Horror/thriller/sci-fi movies- I’m not even going to touch on this one.

This is all I can think of right now, if anybody had anymore feel free to post them.

Desperate Houswives when one of. The daughters hook up with a black kid who turns out to be a murderer.

Wow I don't really think there are any great interracial love stories in media.

first movie that came to mind is Pelican Brief. they definitely weren't gonna allow julia roberts to get her swirl on. only affection in that piece is when she kisses denzel at the end. on the muh'fukkin cheek. wtf. lol
(according to the actresses themselves though, it is denzel who declines the romantic scenes with a ww)

yea this is a big issue in Hollywood that angers me. Now Denzel DID do an IR love scene in He Got Game with Milla Jovovich...but...you could say thats "okay" since she was playing a trashy hooker and it wasnt really "love" just banging and lust, so people werent really offended.

One of the reasons Wesley Snipes (who sadly just got sentenced to 3 years in prison for tax evasion) is one of my favorite favorite favorite actors EVER is not just his raw charisma, swagger, acting talent, fighting skills, and star power...but...his BALLS to do IR (in fact he specifically asks for white or asian love interests...something that caused controversy). Look at One Night Stand (has an asian wife and cheats on her with a white blonde), Jungle Fever (white love interest), US Marshals (brunette white French girlfriend), Murder at 1600 (Diane Lane), and pretty much all his straight to DVD action flicks since 2005 (Detonator, 7 Seconds). All white love interests.

Thankfully it has gotten better. If you look at BET's The Game, the light skinned black guy is married to Brittany Daniel (formerly of tv series sweet valley high and currently dating Keenan Ivory Wayans) and they kiss and hug alot. Shows like the new 90210 and Degrassi make IR no big deal at all. Dixon, the black kid on 90210, other than one relationship with a black college chick, has gotten with Silver (the brunette main girl, with whom he fell in love with and they made a sex tape together in a janitor's closet, he also talked her out of committing suicide when she couldnt deal with it when he dumped her) and Ivy (blonde surfer tomboy girl). Also on Amanda Bynes' old sitcom What I Like About You, black guy Gary (Wesley Jonathan) got with booty-licious Allison Munn. On One Tree Hill, black basketball star Skills (Antwon Tanner) dated a hot blonde.

Feature films still have a ways to go before it is accepted in the mainstream (not some small indie or some urban drama where the girl is from the "wrong side of the tracks" or a wanna be hip hop dancer) but teen TV dramas have made it a little more acceptable...hopefully leading a revolution that the next generation can carry onto Hollywood and finally break down some doors that have been closed for far too long :smt068

If I were to write a script and sell it, I would hope that I could stick a clause in there that states that no matter whom the movie is developed and eventually created by, it has to maintain the nationality of the characters I prescribed (and of course the lead would be black and the love interest would be white lol)

LOL that's BS, Eva Mendes is the go to Latina to mess with brothers on film. Will (Hitch) and Denzel (Training Day) both. Not to mention that wedding movie with the Ugly Betty chick marrying a black dude.
