But you know what, those people aren't really singing their own checks, they just think they are. Even us black business owners have to answer to someone ("the gov"), and whom predominantly makes the up "the gov," I leave the rest up to you...I myself am a "bootstraper," brown is my skin, green is my politics, I'm no sell out, but I'm true to myself.
Please enough with the white man holding us down bullshit. We oppress ourselves a thousand times more. Does the top one percent control most of the wealth? Yes but it has way more to do with class than race. The middle class to the poor are all slaves my friend. Being black just allows us to see through the bullshit quicker.
exactly and exactly. in order to see thru the BS you have to have one of 2 things happen....you get educated by another person telling or you get educated thru experience. the problem is that fools think they know it all
thank u. you bros on this site bring the intellectual heat. that is why im on here. go to the trading mack notes I have a link with this dude talking about different issues and the major one is Mel gibson. he is pretty thorough
No one can hold me down, no can hold us down, but they can hold you back. If you don't control the keys to the door, then you can't come in and play like the rest. You can visit for a bit, rent some time, look through the vestibule window, but not many of 'Us' hold the keys. For example, the music industry, 'we' are used as vessels for money making (since the beginning). 'We' don't own the rights to our intellectual property (in more ways than just music), 'we' aren't in key positions of distribution (name me some?). 'We' may have the presidency, but news flash, you need the senate, congress, and supreme court to complete the package, not mention a lot of other key political areas, which 'we' don't hold. Sports, and don't give me that Magic Johnson, Jay-z bullshit, where are all of 'our' other owners, front office management, coach’s (old tale, but we could have more). I could go on for days my friend. As I said, I'm a 'bootstraper,' and there are many others, and 'we' continue to progress, but it's not fast enough, strong enough, and in all the right places.
So as far as addressing your question about distribution Kotch records was black owned and did their own distribution and were majorly responsible for the whole dip set buzz a few years ago but with media being more digital now distribution is an irrevelant subject since you can media anywhere now. I think you're viewing the US as purely black and its really a class thing always has been always will be. Race is just the vehicle used to distract us. Like I said poor and middle class whites are getting screwed too unfortunately most of them don't know it being black just makes us more aware.
