Yeah, I hate when my books have writing. I find it funny how the buyback policy says there can't be any writing in it when you sell the books back, but you get a book with torn pages, highlights(although they help, at times) and random pen streaks.

Yep, that always bugged me but I'm weird, I only like certain colors of highlighter, some are really distracting to me and just make it hard for me to concentrate. Same with ink colors, I can do red, blue and black, anything else might as well be written in invisible ink as it's just not gonna register with me. But I was always kinda pathological about studying, and I had my own methods that worked for me... and they did not involve writing in my books.

    What are you studying, Bro?
I'm thinking about getting my master degree.... but I don't know.

Wow.... All this si ridiculous... My university, the more you are gonna pay is 1300 euro per year, and only if u have some money. In 4 yrs of college I just paid the books and transportantions because I got scholarships all the time because we were poor and I had good marks.

If you guys paid more taxes, then maybe you wouldn't be paying all that to get a degree :p

And you didn't let me know that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here male social workers are rare as gold.
If I told you what happened to me today at work, you would change idea about getting into social work... lol.

Wait don't all states have this policy? I know Florida does.

I don't know Archangel. They didn't have it in Kansas when I was in high school, but that's been forever ago. I also don't think they offered it in Texas when my sisters were in high school, and that was more recent.

They're not gonna let me off without paying, and if I tried to transfer they'll still want the money. What happened with housing is that my loan got denied in December, and I was put on a payment plan. Well, my payments went from 255/mo to 370/mo and no one bothered to tell me. So I got behind on my payments big time. Well, my behind payments should have only been 1k, but
now they say I owe 2k and can't show me why. On top of that they're now saying my grants and federal loans will run out and leave me 7k short for my degree. But they somehow want ten fucking thousand dollars.

My mom and I are talking to everyone trying to get something done. If I can't figure this out by Friday I will be forced to drop all my classes abd quit.

    It's just bullshit.

Yeah, AI consistently proves that they are a business that also happens to be a school.

I got to the one in Houston. It didn't used to be so bad. :(

When weren't they a business? Schools are always a business. They just cover it up to attract people.

Not to put a damper on your plan, but Social work job sucks. A lot of busy body type of work, dealing with dysfunctional family, getting the govt to pay for some illegal immigrant medical bills, getting children out of abused house, finding medical care and home care for elderly, shessshhh. I would rather shoot myself on the back of my skull than working as one. The only one that I see happy working on this field are the bubbly blonde babes who gets hit by doctors and the ones who attend lalapaluza concerts. They do make significant difference tho, Much respect for Thickie and her peers.
Bro as a BM I would discourage you from getting into this field. Get into Computer netowork and shit like that than this field.

I'm doing dual majoring for computer science and visual arts. I know two completely opposite ends of the spectrum (one is heavily right side/creativity the other is heavily left side/logic) But the more that I'm learning language the
more I want to do linguistics so I'm can do translating and stuff. So I'm in sort of a dilemna, nothing as bad as poor persephone though.

HAHA, well AI is an private institution, that's why they charge so much. Most private institution seems to charge hella a lot lol. it's ridiculous. The whole AI ordeal left me with a horrible experience as well. My dad, was always against me being an artist, specifically a comic book artist. No matter how much I improved, he wouldn't accept it. I got a letter from marvel when I was 16 saying I should submit my art after I'm 18 but I already was a good artist. Did that change my dad's mind? Nope. I was getting close to 18 and I wanted to go to AI but my dad wouldn't support it. Funny enough, I got stopped by a Navy recruiter saying they have a college scholarship that goes as much as 55k, (MGIB) so I was like SWEET, that's enough to cover AI. So I ask my dad one more time if he would support me, and like always, he said nope. So I told him I was joining the navy and this was the time where the war in Iraq was going crazy. So my dad kept saying, your going to end up out there in the mist of the war and you might not make it back.

He said some other stuff but he still didn't give up on his stubbornness so I joined. The only thing I felt bad for was my sisters and my mom, they both were so worried and it was one of the very few times where I acted selfishly.
But I wanted to go to AI so bad, it was my life long dream. So I joined and fortunately nothing happened to me. So I got out of the navy and of course the first thing I wanted to do was sign up for AI. Well the price essentially
doubled from the time I went into the navy to when I got out. At first it was only 47k for a bachelor, when I got it, it was 93k, way more than my scholarship could afford. I was so depressed and devastated words couldn't explain it.

So when I hear persephone talking about her issue with AI, it strikes a cord because I always wanted to go to that school but couldn't afford it, and now she's getting kicked out of it. God that school is so money hungry.

God I really hate this school network. It's amazing how hungry for money they are. They shouldn't even be consider a school, just a place to make people broke. As a prospect student whose dream was to go to AI, I really feel your pain. Are you sure though that if you move to san diego AI, you can't bypass this? Because as stated before, San Diego AI doesn't have school housing. So that at least can help with supposed school housing they are asking from you.

Either that or perhaps you can transfer to another art school. Out here we have another school for arts called Platts College, which is definitely cheaper than AI but not a whole lot less. It's still outside my scholarship allotment but
it might be just enough cheaper for you finish your degree.

I flipped all my under books on the web for mostly the same I bought them for if not more.

I'm in a MBA program that still costs a gripe after employee kick in, scholarships, grants, and a personal loan.
