the parent thread.....things you love about being a parent

being a parent is unconditional...it continues...you can't just divorce your kids...as a parent you figure out how to weather a storm...make it through tough times...enjoy and celebrate the good times...in almost every other aspect of life things or people can/will become disposable...relationships break up...people change jobs...sell their homes....move away...adopt or buy pets only to rehome, give away or drop at a shelter...

having a child is forever...being a parent is forever...babies grow into toddlers...toddlers grow into elementary stages...then preteen...then teen...my son is now a teen and once in awhile i get a glimpse of my little boy...like the other day we were planting flowers on the back patio...i had to catch my breath and look the other way as my eyes filled with tears...they grow up so fast...the years just click by...sometimes i wish i could go back and stop time and just take it all in...all over again...

i am so blessed...he is an amazing young man

I saw this article today and thought about posting it.

I think it's a shame that this tragedy happened. It was so preventable.

Bottom line is people need to watch their toddlers whenever they are AWAKE. And when they're asleep, they should be in a room with only one way to exit so they can be seen.

Such a shame.
