Just don't allow it to. We can't control how people behave but we can control how we react to them

The fact she's a "troll" makes no difference. I have heard this before from WW, on different message boards (including this one) and even in conversation! My question was does this smack of "self-hate" as much as it would for a black man who somehow found BW features distasteful (yes I've heard BM say stuff like that too whether joking or not).

The fact that certain people in this thread have tried to hijack this question to make unnecessary drama says more about them than me. At this point it's quite typical.

I think it's ridiculous that people have to even think of self-hating for anything.

But no, it doesn't smack of self-hate because it obviously smacks of "race-baiting". And chi clearly wants to keep her thread on track (given some of her responses to other posters), so why give this troll the opportunity to derail this thread more than it's already been derailed?

Certain threads warrant having "fun" with trolls, and other threads, depending on what the troll says, just warrants ignoring them in hopes that they go away.

If you want to start a thread based on what that troll said to ask that question, then maybe you should. Otherwise, I'm not going to "feed" this particular troll in this particular thread.

I commend you Chi, this thread is good subject matter and something that needed to be coverged IMHO.

My goodness the nonsense... Look I don't have problem with White Dicks, some White Men are extremely productive and just do the right thing. The imbalance is that for every great thing a White Man does, it glosses over all the atrocities that happen on a daily.

Isn't the whole war in Afghanistan some White Guy's idea of "Goverment In a Box" and telling a bunch of Brown people how they should live there lives instead of giving them the tools needed to make decisions on their own?

Like in the Laker's riot thread, there was no "riot" like the media would like to believe if you didn't watch any of the coverage. I did watch most of it, and save for a few minor incidents it was drama free, nobody got hurt or killed.

But many places where a sport enjoys a 99.1% White Fan base (Hockey) they destroy entire city blocks in "celebration" and by the way the next time Michigan State or some other school with majority White students rip the goal post down, that's destruction of private property and ask any grounds keeper, he RATHER not put up another one and the school rather not PAY for another one.

Judged on a individual basis is how everybody should be judged. I'm guilty of
generalizing but I use it get my point across, I seldom personally think in absolutes.

Karma was correct to call out the hypocrisy in those statements.

Spot on, the argument now mostly is -

"What should we do with these poor, unfortunate women of color"

In every measurable from the last 30 years you can clearly see that White Women have nothing but given themselves more opportunity but those same opportunities are not extended down, its much like "Trickle Down" economics.

I mean I can say shit like more Black Men are graduating HS and finishing College with degrees than ever before, but there's still up to 50% unemployment for Black Men in most Urban Areas. This was BEFORE the economic downturn by the way, after.

I also can argue that minorities (including women) don't have enough representation in Congress. You also have a few bat-shit crazy White Women in Congress who are doing NOTHING for Women's issues and are effectively Anti-Woman, its incredible when you think about it.

It may be no longer to be in vogue to Blame Whitey but I would say don't be hasty in throwing that criticism out, our entire political and social structure is controlled by.... You guessed it.

I don't go around looking at every White man as evil, cause I see WM on a daily basis who seem kind and polite and just all around good guys, but we all know what they've done and have been capable of. They've caused so much evil in history. Not to say that Non-WM haven't done damage, but WM always seem to be the leader in anything negative. Their need for power is sickening. They don't care who they step over to get it. I'm a firm believer in Karma and the shit they've done will come back to haunt them and I'd be someone who would bear the brunt of it cause we share the same skin tone.

That's inaccurate. Everyone has been screwed by the rich, the upper crest, they just choose the white man to be the representative of that class. The smartest thing the rich ever did to divide the poor amongst themselves was to plant the idea of racism because unlike other cast class and cast systems where a pauper could one day become wealthy through hard work and taking advantage of the right opportunities race can not be changed. So while the poor, white men and women included, squabble over this ridiculous shit they screw us a little more each year. Do you guys have any idea what the Boston Tea party was about? A mere 3 percent tax on luxury goods like tea. This lead to us breaking away from England. Now on average we pay at least a quarter of our pay in income taxes not to mention the tax we pay everytime we purchase something followed by a tax just to be allowed to own your property. So what happens is your average American keeps less and less of their earned income while the cost of living gets raised by those who refuse to pay them in accordance with rising costs that they control. So instead of being mad at the corporations and governments that screw them they turn on their fellow poor person because its easier to blame them. Its easier for a poor white person to think they are getting hammered by taxes because minorities are a financial burden they have to pay for which is taking away from their quality of life making it hard for them to live like their luckier white bretheren. I think poor white people have it just as bad as minorities in certain respect without any organizations to protect them against the rich. So its not white men who screw anyone its the wealthy plain and simple. White men are just burdened with the illusion that they are in control.

All men seek power its just the face of it has been white for the last few centuries. White men aren't the problem. A system where very few can subject the mass majority to their whims is.

I did say that non-WM are capable of any wrong-doing, but they're the poster child of it. This is just how I see things.

Tim Wise said it best. The whole divide and conquer. Rich White people who made sure lower income white people were at odds with the Black people.
If your a white guy who feels he more Superior to black people, your not gonna overthrow those Wealthy Oligarchs who control the system.

Exactly. Its my biggest problem with states like Kentucky and Kansas which by their income and the way they live should be blue states but they vote republican everytime even the person doesn't represent their interests. They all thing by keeping the system the way it is they too will one day become rich when system won't allow it.

Excellent post. Rep would have been added, if I could!! This country truly is in need of some sort of revolution to bring it back to the middle class.

But too many people are busy buying their luxury cars, their houses that are too big for them, their state-of-the-art whatever so they can stay connected 24/7 to dig deep and realize that this country is quickly losing its middle class to inflation and taxes.

Exactly. It hasn't always been the white man on top. Every civilization has been through this.

    Man, in general, wants power.

Isn't it time to stop focusing on all of the bad that has happened in the past and start banding together as human beings to work for the greater good of all humanity?

History is necessary to learn about our past mistakes, but it's time to stop placing blame and start putting those lessons to use today and in the future so we can work as a more cohesive unit as humans.
