Thanks very much, my man. I've definitely missed this board a lot too:smt079

Yeah man, i've been living out here for almost a year now, Montgomery County. I see you're in PGC. Getting around the DC-MD-VA area can be a pain in the butt, especially during rush hour, but I definitely prefer raising a family here than in South Florida. At least I don't have to worry about finding reptiles in my bathroom for one :smt118 . Lord knows I've had enough of those ...

Happy soon-to-be one year anniversary! :p How exciting! And twin girls must be a ton of fun - my husband wants twins eventually, but they don't run in our family so I'm thinking he's probably out of luck, lol. God has blessed you. ;)

I just wasted two hours of my life watching 'Obsessed.' Easily in the top 5 worst films I've ever seen.

    YES YES YES!

My daughter has a place at the catholic school i wanted for her. still having a rejig on her statement as theyve offerred to put in 13.5 hours of support that would leave her to fend on her own for more than half the day, new school not happy about that but just heard panel have agreed to exceptional circumstances funding so hopefuly she will get some more help

and sitting in the reception this morning was HEAVEN lots of lovey yummy black men to look at ( majority of children at the school are black )

such a lovely school, just hoping kaya takes to them and they can manage her they admitted theyve not had a child as complex as madam before and are suprised shes transerring in from a PMLD school straight to mainstream, i hope i made the right decision to mainstream her insted of sending her to a MLD school

Be very very careful over there. I may be a catholic but that doesn't mean I trust a priest with my child!

That's fantastic news Robina! So happy to hear something good, seems you've had it too hard lately. I hope Kaya loves it there! I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating in your case. You pretty much always sit at the top of the list for Best Mum in the World! I am always impressed, inspired, and humbled by you. Your daughter could not hope for a better Mum, you're just absolutely awesome.

good for you robina...pushing the envelope...there is no guarantee that it will work but at least you can say that you pushed through to mainstream and tried it...she could end up flourishing in a more challenging environment...

    thats the hope lippy

her current school she has just outgrown and shes no longer being challenged, her best friend there is being moved on too

the other special schools we visited just wernt differentiating the work, they were working several levels ahead of her and she would have gotten no support to bring her up to the level they work at so realy her best option for primary level was a mainstream school with support and this school just really "get" how to bring on children with autistic tendancys, the rest of her issues are really pot luck and i know theres every chance she will need to go back to a special school enviroment for her senir schooling but hey shes beat the odds this far, why cant she beat em again
