Monaco is the most expensive location to buy an apartment in Europe. Closely on its tail is Prime Central London. Paris and Amsterdam follow London. Moscow is Europe's sixth most expensive capital for buyers of residential property. And though apartments in Moscow can be rather rewarding for buyers in terms of rental income returns, investors should be aware of the high risks (purchases are cash-based, and the authorities can suddenly turn hostile).

I know, this list makes me sad. :(

When I was in Paris last month I would see signs and lots of apartments were going for 2500 Euro per month....

PER MONTH...and that was in the cheaper areas. I mean..REALLY. Who makes that kind of money?

I think I need a Sugar Daddy... LOL

Yeap- some european cities are damned expensive. I just know that Zurich is placed Nr 3 for most expensive cities (not just properties). Our appartments start from 1400 till 10 000 /month. A coffee is between 4.50 to 8 or 9 francs, what is nearly the same in US Dollars.

But of course some places in some cities are out of the world!

British airlines 'worst for customer satisfaction'

Passengers travelling with UK airlines may have wished that they chose to stay in bed at their Heathrow Airport hotel rather than catch their flight, as a new survey shows low levels of customer satisfaction.

The research by Which? Holidays placed UK airline Thomas Cook last of 18 in a customer satisfaction survey of more than 5,000 of its members.

Ryanair, Monarch, Thomson and bmibaby also failed to rank well on the list of short-haul carriers, which was topped by the airline Swiss.

Swiss scored 72 points overall, while Thomas Cook scored just 37.

The highest ranking British airline on the long-haul table was Virgin Atlantic, which came 6th out of 17 carriers. Air New Zealand topped the table, while British Airways (BA) came in 11th.

BA was recently found to be the worst airline for lost or damaged bags in a poll by the insurer LV=.

Rochelle Turner, head of research for Which? Holiday, said: "Our rigorous research shows that while the cost of flights is important to customers, it's things like friendly cabin staff and reasonable luggage allowances that leave a lasting impression."

British Airways worst in Europe for cancelling flights

According to a new investigation, British Airways now has the worst record in Europe when it comes to cancelling flights.

One in every fifty of its flights operating from Heathrow Airport was cancelled this past year, which is a poorer record than that of its major rivals, such as Air France, KLM and Lufthansa, according to the findings of the Channel 4 Dispatches investigation.

BA has countered that its competitors have a higher level of spare runway capacity at their main operating hubs than it does at Heathrow and has also defended its record against other claims made during the television programme.

The Dispatches programme has credited Dutch-based Hendrik Noorderhaven as the source of much of its information. Nooderhaven monitors the movement of aircraft and often provides the data needed for people to claim compensation.

An example of cancellations by British Airways he provided was the 6:35 pm service from Heathrow to Frankfurt that was cancelled 27 times this year.

Often, when passengers seek compensation from an airline their claim is denied on the basis of 'extraordinary circumstances,' a condition under which carriers are not required to pay out, the Dispatches programme disclosed.

British Airways 'worst airline for losing luggage'

A survey revealed British Airways to be the worst UK airline for lost or damaged baggage. Based on responses from more than 2,000 recent flyers across the UK, the survey showed that one in 3.8 BA passengers has had their checked luggage lost, delayed or damaged in the last five years. The figure for lost or damaged luggage on British Airways was almost 14 per cent higher than any other airline.

UK-based airlines made up seven of the eight worst airlines for luggage difficulties. Virgin Atlantic was named second-worst airline with one in 8.3 passengers having luggage problems. Third was Dubai-based carrier Emirates (one in nine passengers affected), fourth was easyJet (one in 11.1) and fifth was Ryanair (one in 12.5).

Overall in the UK only a quarter of those airline passengers whose luggage was damaged received compensation from the airline, according to the survey by insurance company LV=. Those who were compensated received an average of just 72 pounds for their damage. 30 percent of travelers waited three months or more to be compensated for their damaged luggage. A total of 38 percent had to wait for between one week and a month, while just 20 percent were compensated for the damage within a week. When it comes to lost luggage, only 27 per cent were reunited with their bags within 24 hours.

How British airlines are officially among the worst in Europe for losing bags

Passengers on bmi British Midland and British Airways are among the likeliest to lose their luggage, new performance figures of European airlines reveal.

Bmi passengers have a 1 in 58 chance of leaving their plane without their bags while on BA the likelihood is 1 in 64, according to new figures obtained by the Daily Mail. The UK airlines finished near the bottom of the international league table covering the five winter months to March this year. Nearly 17.2 bmi bags in every 1,000 go astray, leaving the airline with more than 34,000 lost bags, putting it in 23rd place out of 26 airlines surveyed.

Brits are worst-dressed tourists in Europe

Brits travelling abroad have failed to shake off their socks-and-sandals image and have been voted the worst-dressed holidaymakers in Europe followed by Germans, while the Italians and French are the smartest, it has been revealed.

British people are the worst-dressed holidaymakers in Europe, a study found

According to a survey by TripAdvisor, Italians are the best-dressed holidaymakers.

The findings came despite 36 percent of Britons - who are famed for fashion blunders like wearing socks with sandals - admitting that they dress more adventurously than usual while on a break.

The survey also looked at how people from different countries are at switching off from the pressures of work while taking a break. A massive 87 percent of travellers from France said they checked their work emails while on holiday compared to over a quarter of Britons. That figure is despite France's reputation as a less workaholic country than Britain.

And while 93 percent of Britons try to speak the local language when abroad, some 20 percent of French travelers say they do not make any effort at all.

The survey by travel website TripAdvisor quizzed 2,717 European travellers last month.

Actually mate, it's Germans. Just sayin'.

And hey at least 93% of us try and speak the local language. I think manners are more important than wearing sandals and socks, don't you?

I don't mean this offensively, every American person that has posted their photos on this website has been stylish and very well dressed but in general American tourists are considered the worst dressed by the British, next to the Chinese.

Heathrow voted 'worst airport in the world'

Heathrow airport has been voted the worst airport in the world for the second year running, according to a global poll of airline passengers.

The survey of members of Priority Pass, the worlds leading independent airport lounge programme, included responses from 160 countries. The respondents to the annual survey have taken, on average, 17 flights in the past year.

Charles de Gaulle airport, in Paris, was voted second worst, followed by Los Angeles, Frankfurt International and Miami International. Singapore Changi finished top, followed closely by Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok. Amsterdam Schiphol was the pick of Europe's airports.

"The travellers who took part in this survey took almost 250,000 flights between them over the last year, and that means they know a thing or two about airports," said Jonathan French, Head of Brand for Priority Pass. "Sadly, Heathrow remains firmly entrenched as the airport the world loves to hate."

Heathrow airport worst for passport line-ups or queues

In the online survey of more than 2,250 travellers by travel community website wayn.com, Heathrow airport was voted the major international airport with the longest passport line-ups (waiting in line or known as queues in the UK).

Heathrow has had well documented problems with lost bags, and in the wayn.com survey it was also named the major international airport with the longest wait for bags and most likely to damage bags.
