The thing about the Pyraminx was that unlike the Rubiks Cube your average kid could actually solve the damn thing.

The trick was to focus on solving only one side at a time (which was pretty easy). This would usually throw the other three sides out of wack. So you would simply choose one of the unsolved sides and work on it until it was solved. Again the other three sides would likely not match, so you would pick another side and solve that. Repeat this process over and over until eventually you would find that all four sides matched up. I think it usually took around 5-10 minutes max.

i remember when these pieces would come on regular tv. (and not just during black history month)
now they only seem to show up on cable, and not with any regularity.

 

and what would hours in front of the tv at night as a kid be without some finger sizzling (and half burnt) Jiffy Pop? lol

After not having seen this video in about 20 years, I think it's aged surprisingly well.

 

Dude, you're the man for posting this video, I almost forgot about it for a minute. This was like what, '86 or '87, I remember back then I used to rock the Adidases, bucket hats, dookies and shit, all 5 years and 65 pounds of me lol. It's one of LL's biggest hits IMO.
