    LoL.

I am sure we all heard of these...

"I want to have a child who is light, bright, always right, beautiful sight and near damn white"

"white is right, if you black get back"

I'm equally baffled by it Tarshi. I cannot imagine telling my children, or anyone else that the color of their skin was ugly. No one should be defined by the color of their skin, and everyone should be told they have worth beyond measure.

Well they are a little hard to overlook, it's a pretty major contrast. As for the other, I thought all nipples were pink, never occurred to me WW had any color other than pink until someone pointed it out to me. Always something new to be learned.

Aww, thanks Britty. I've gotten used to it, but it really is the first thing I notice about myself when I'm nekked. But it's just part of me, not like I'm going to off myself over some visible veins. :smt042

well I was talking about the veins around their breast although I have seen white women with brown nipples or very large aerolas(sp).

I got that Archangel, just pointing out my similar lack of knowledge on the subject of contrast. ;)

This is stuff black kids grow up with. More so African Americans. I never heard this stuff around my family or the kids at church but I was educated daily when I was growing up. I get it comes from a slavery era mentality and I can deal with that but the lighter skinned kids nevr really thought about the price that was usually paid for their skin. But I think its human nature to single out people based on differences because we ourselves are scared to death we won't be liked. There has never been a day when I was happy that I ever went around trying to find reasons proving I was better than anyone else. Simply put if you're busy being happy you don't have the time to mess up someone elses day.

It doesn't matter what colour his skin is because in the end it's all about the penis size! LMAO :smt081

That's my new favorite word: bazinga. I love it.

As for me, I don't care what color his skin is....if he's attractive to me in some way, that's all that matters!!

Not that I am aware of but ill ask around. There isn't a dominant white presence there so I don't know where the skin envy might come from at least in Jamaica but now I'm intrigued.

I don't think it is as big as it is in the usa. You notice it more so in the usa since majority of the people are not black.

Isnt Jamaica a former british colony? they have brits who live there. Dont they also have lots of chinese, some Indians there. The obsession of color doesnt begin with AA it is every where. It is even common in mama Africa. There are lots of african markets that carry and push skin lightening cream, this crap aint nutin new. Thanx to the Brits Divide and conquer mentality, light skin with refined feature works in air conditioned house, but dark skin negro work in the field under the hot sun.......

andrae, I got to know! what is the point of this thread? What brought you to ask this question? I have seen this question asked before in pro black forums and almost always bring about fights or debates. In the back of my mind, I was going oh no might as well get ready for a fight. Usually a question like this is very dependent on the person and will never get an answer you like from everyone.

Oh yeah you're right on all accounts but unlike the US where whites are 55% of the country and parts of Africa where there is still european occupation in the form of corporations for mining minerals and farming cocoa beans (both multibillion dollar industries) there's very little Euro occupation because the Jamaicas main source of income is tourism and they are left to govern themselves and black people are over 90 percent of the population so the dark skinned light skinned thing might not be as big a deal but like I said I could be wrong. I only know a small population in the form of my family. I haven't visited since the 90s either.
