I was looking through the Members list and thought I'd check out post counts, a few of the totals are amazing, but when you put them against the length of time they've been here they are maybe not so amazing, it's the relatively new posters that are racking up 3,000 - 4,000 posts that are astonishing, do you ever become unconnected from the internet? are your cell phone browser bills high? I know alot of you post while at work, but still when you go home your on here too.
So the question is does posting on this site affect the life you lead?

I find I have to have breaks from here, it's very easy to become very engrossed in the politics and topics of this site, which of course is a credit to the webmaster and all the posters here, so be honest do you think you may be slightly over zealous or outright batty about being here?

LOL great I'm in the list. Honestly, this site doesn't impact my life at all. I come on when I'm online anyway, I don't come on to check the site. Usually I'm on FB, downloading music, reading, doing course work etc... at the same time. I should chill out on the posting probably, considering half of what I post is total BS. I would never check it on my phone although I have free internet on it. Only if I'm at home with nothing else to do.

The site doesn't affect my life, but the internet, in general, does. I'm always on here, because it's a few clicks to check this site, while I'm doing something else on the internet. What keeps me on the internet all the time is trying to download every rare album I can get and hella other music, or downloading anime and manga, reading manga online, reading fanfic, on the Eazy-E fansite/forum, looking up info on upcoming video games, reading Tucker Max and Maddox stories and watching videos on youtube and nothingtoxic.

I'll say "fuck hanging with friends, tonight", so I can read some fanfic or some manga. Yeah, I'm sad.

    Francie,

I don't appreciate being left off your list. One of my posts is equal to 10 of the average member who frequents the forum. Therefore, my 570+ post count can be adjusted to 12,692.

Please put my screen name in its rightful place, namely at the top of your list.

    Thanks,

    The End

Not entirely on topic, but I've been wondering this a while and seems a good enough spot to ask... Is it possible that Webmaster is actually a poster we know? I mean, if the topic is of interest to him you'd think he'd wanna interact on the site as well... Or is it just a job? :smt102

Maybe I'm a just a n00b and this is a really dumb question, but if so, someone enlighten me

webmaster used to be around more...if you click on his page you will see a picture of the hottie...he doesn't post as much but that would lead lippy to believe he has found a ms. webbie to occupy his time when he isn't working on the site...we also used to not have mall cops or mods on the site...now that we do he isn't here as much playing referee...it was more fun when webbie was around and we didn't have people thinking they had special mod powers with their plastic sheriffs badges:vom:

LOL @francie for this thread...the funniest damn thing is when you click on some of the member pages and see how many times they post a day on average...some of these people are at work while they are doing this which makes me wonder if that figures into productivity on the job...lippy has been here on/off for the last 3 years...i respond to very few threads mainly because there are a few people here that respond to everything and i get tired of reading the same thing every day like a broken record...i have a home office so i will check in when i am home...when i travel time rarely permits...sometimes after being away for a few days it is hard to catch up and i will just pass over threads...usually after being away i am looking for a fun conversation to hop in on...

    A small part.

Sometimes I am around more, other times, I'm away for a while.

Edit: instead of posting when we joined the site, everyone's birthdays are listed instead. ^^^:)

I was a degenerate loser of society when I joined the forum and I still am, so to answer your question, no my life has not been affected.

If I cant post on WWBM I prolly hang around at seven eleven, have sex with strangers and spread my seed, so if u ask me this is prolly better. LMAO

Ditto. I work online, and I'm a workaholic. Posting here takes approximately the same time it does to upload a very large file. I am always multitasking when I'm here.

Yeah if it had the join date you would see some people who have been here half as long as me are way up on the list. I am such a slacker. :p And lol at The End. You are a slacker trying to get to the top of the list.

It's a small part of my life though. I have lots of activities/friends outside of here. I have never been out to dinner say having fun and stopped to log on here. I will however log on when I am online anyway.

And I have to say there are a bunch of people here who I think are amazing and the fun and conversations keep me wanting to log in. I enjoy the board and the people here. Thanks to webmaster. :smt038

LMFAO:smt005:smt005:smt005she could only be a brown noser if she went on to make a list of people hoping to receive rep from them or wanting them all to visit the thank-you thread to annouce how fabulous they think she is...now i have to clean the orange juice off my keyboard that i just sprayed in laughter...

webmaster is worth a cool 50 in rep points so he is the MAN to mention :smt016

i make a lot of posts in a short amount of time. that's how i racked my count up. some threads turn more into convos. i am a heavy texter, so it flows easy for me like that.

i definitely don't hit this site in the office. don't need this piece popping up on my list of visited sites (internal big brother), they'd probably think it was a smut joint by the title. but i also work primarily via satellite, so i pass through here regularly. (average 4-5 days a week)

the only way it affects my "normal" life is that sometimes i can lose track of time searching for the right pic to add to my posts. and next thing i know i have been on here for 2 hours when i had planned to just fall thru for 30 or so. (like now, dang it... i need to throw some gear on and go cheer for ivory coast to pull off the upset)

    I don't work online, but I do multi-task when I'm on here.

Co-sign! (My post count would be half what it is if it weren't for all of those damn "co-signs" that I love to pull out to annoy people and make others laugh.) :smt043

Seriously though, if you're worrying about post counts of others, maybe you need to log off the site for awhile. It doesn't matter what others are doing because the only person's behavior you can control is your own.

I don't keep track of my post count or how many times I post a day. I'm either on here a lot because the conversations and/or the people are talking about stuff that I'm interested in, or I'm not on here a lot because people aren't talking or aren't posting interesting things. Or I'm off doing things in the "real world".

    It's an ebb and flow.

Not only that, but I've met some amazing people on this site and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I enjoy the site.
