I have a daughter and man oh man I love being a father. It is wonderful to see yourself in your child for the better or worst..LOL. you know what I mean.

I love the fact of when i walk through the door she runs to me and literally jumps in my arms screaming daddy.

she and i are like frick and frat...i cant go anywhere without her going too....

When she says, completely out of the blue, "Mom?" I'll say, "what?". "I love you". Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!!

When she runs up and gives me a big hug when she sees me.

When she sings along with the music in the back of the car.

When she yells at cars in front of me to "get out of mommy's way". (Oops, I may have been teaching her some bad behavior there).

When she does something good, and I praise her for it, and she beams at me.

    When she's being sassy.

When she says the most off-beat things that take me by surprise and have me laughing.

Her laugh. Her smile. Her eyes.

There aren't too many things I don't love about being a parent. :smt023

what gl & joanie said about the hugs & kisses & sass.

i love to listen to them laughing together
i love to see them sharing a secret
i love hearing them talking in their sleep
i love the way they roll over when asleep in my bed and cuddle me
i love to see my son taking care of his little sister...example: my daughter is home sick today so he went into their room and returned with a blanket, pillow, her favorite doll & a book for her, so she could be all set up on the couch
i love hearing them sing along to bep or usher whilst dancing round the dining room
i love watching them trying to figure things out...you can almost hear their minds ticking away...tongue out to the side of their mouth

i love the fact that these two little people were once in my stomach, bouncing round, kicking me, jumping on my bladder, giving me heart burn and strange cravings...I JUST LOVE THEM

talking about the bed...what i love most is when she was young ..she would sleep with me and in the morning she would have her toes up my nose

telling jokes and stories that make them laugh (until they become teenagers)
wrestling with them on the floor
    watching them play sports
    the funny things they say
    watching them grow and mature
seeing yourself in them (even when you don't want to acknowledge it)

My daughter is only 5 1/2 months old right now, but everything about motherhood thus far is incredible. ;)

    I love her toothless grin.

I love walking into her nursery after her nap and she's smiling huge at me from her crib.

I love that when I have to wake her up at 6am to take her to grandma and grandpa's that she's smiling at me through her sleepy little eyes.

I love how she smiles SO huge when I sing to her.

I love that when I hold her, she snuggles her head on my shoulder or chest.

I love the way she tries to sit up on her own and then does a face plant into the bed, lol.

I love that she tries to talk, but just makes lots and lots of silly noise.

I love the way she smells after a bath.

I love how she giggles hysterically when I lift her up over my head.

I love the funny faces she makes when she's crying and smiling at the same time...lol.

I just love her - everything about her. She's perfect. :smt060

congratulations! :D nothing more awesome than being a parent. people tell you that, but you really don't get it until you're holding that baby in your arms - it's a love like NO other.

i love hearing her call me mummy ( well the first 20 times in a row )

    i love her laugh

i love the way she insists on kisses ( pulls your head round till your in place )

i love the weird little things she says

i love the secrets she tells me ( shes echolalic so never say anything around her you dont want others to know, she WILL repeat it over and over )

i love that only mummy cuddles will do sometimes and that she still likes to be held and rocked like a baby, all snuggly

i love that even when shes on a ventilator she still smiles

i love that shes soooooo girly, loves her nails painted and she likes to study handbags in shops ( but has been known to try and stash them under her wheelchair )

i love the way she screechs when you tickle her

Cosign the cosign Suprchic! Enjoy them while they are small, they grow up so fast. My eldest will be 18 in a couple months, and it doesn't seem possible that much time has elapsed, it's mind boggling.

As for what I love about being a parent:

    - the way they keep me laughing every day with their teenaged hysterical insight, amazing sarcasm, and shear dry wit

    - being filled with admiration when I witness displays of their amazing compassion & kindness towards others, and the way they will speak up for anyone

    - the way we can communicate without speaking, because we know each other that well

    - the times when they tell me 'Momma you're crazy... but we love you'

    - the way my son still tries to be sneaky despite the fact that he's never gotten away with it and never will, he's just amazingly tenacious

    - them thinking that I'm completely infallible and that there's nothing I couldn't do, it's ridiculous but really sweet

    - watching them argue over the stupidest stuff, and how fiercly they defend that stupid stuff

    - the fact that they both think there is no higher authority on the planet than me, and that they both trust me so much that they know there is nothing they could tell me that would ever change the love I feel for them, or cause me to turn my back on them

    - seeing them both defend what they know to be right, even when it's not the popular thing to do

    - finding out that when asked on her MySpace who her heros were, my daughter listed only me

    - seeing them both become the people that they are, because it gives me hope for the future, and I'm thankful to God for allowing me to be a part of their lives because they're good people and I would think that were I not their mother
