Urkel, wouldnt do a smidge better if he was white.
I dont see why Bryant Gumbell is in the same category - I love him.
and TS said it - in the long run, these types do very well.

The article is a red herring used by the author to deflect the "lonely Black Woman" stigma off of Black women and to put it on Black male nerds. Apparently this stigma causes her a great deal of embarassment and/or pain and she chooses to scapegoat Black male nerds to cope. As with most of her writings, it is complete bullshit.

One of her main grips are that Black male nerds are choosing "substandard" White women instead of Black female nerds. How dissatisfied are black male nerds when they have choices and are exercising them?

Black male nerds are not running to the media whining and complaining to the world about their inability to find mates. Take a wild guess at which group is?

Can't believe I actually took time to read part of this but basically it all comes down to the fact that the writer is bitter and the biggest weakness of someone that is bitter is the inability to self examine and change.

When you have that mental flaw it's always someone else's fault: nerdy black men, thug black men, my cat, etc. the list goes on. Sure she may get a little following by other creatures that sadly think just as lowly of themselves (the actual root problem) but other people know to blow it off as bitter garbage.

In response to what most others are now talking about in the thread: "nerd" is a loose term. I'll first start of by saying most women don't like a pushover with no self confidence, which is natural.

Now there are certain women that only end up with thugs, bums and losers and believe (consciously or subconsciously) that any other type of man is a "nerd" or soft. They also may expect you as a BM to fit into certain stereotypical categories. Creatures like this are defective, damaged goods and have serious issues. They are not worthy of you and their poor choices and ideas of men is no reflection on you as a man.

I had a female friend once back in college who loved to date bad boys and guys who used her and gave her tons of drama. It was no problem in her 20's-early 30's what other BM did . She only started to care by mid 30's when her options started to run out and she couldn't attract the type of men she wanted.

I wonder if the author was the same.

yeah that is true. they tend to mature and realize what is really up. some women dont grow up but the ones that do realize that the only ones left are the guys they got with at the younger times. then they want to complain of the shortage of good men.

well the good men got swooped up by the smart black women and the other racists. the bw who are complaining will have to wait until they get a divorce or something of that magnitude.

    LOL
I too know a number of females like this. They are BAFFLED and SHOCKED when their "bad boy" bf cheats on them, has side pussy, lies and basically plays with her emotions to the point where she becomes a depressed wreck. "I thought I coulda changed him waaaahhaaaaa!!!!:smt089 But but, they wanted a guy that can "keep them on their toes" as they say and make life a little more interesting haha. SMH

yeah the other thing is when women dont get the challenge the bad boy give em then they cheat on the good guy and of course the good guy leaves then there are two things that will happen:

the good guy moves on of course and hook with a decent woman

the good guy becomes a bad boy and sting em hard then he moves on

in either case when the girl wants to come back she cant or she is too shameful to come back.

most good guys dont do the bad boy thang but they are more watchful

Thinking about all the white nerds on TV, movies, etc. I don't recall any female characters coming around to wanting them. If they have girlfriends its usually their fellow geeks.

In fact, the only time a nerd had a girl eventually come around to wanting them was black (Laura Winslow and Steve Urkel). But to be fair, Steve was more than just a nerd. He was an obsessed stalker who was a walking accident waiting to happen. The Winslow family must have paid thousands of dollars to repair all their furniture, windows, roofs, front door, etc.

Me and all my friends had a crush on Steve Urkel actually :smt003 Although we leaned more toward to his 'alter ego' Stefan Urquelle.

Remember the character Myra who was in love with Steve and his girlfriend for a period of time? So there you go.

And if I remember right, even Carlton had a few women of his own. Jackie played by Tyra Banks (before Will came in) Lark Voorhies who he was going to marry, that girl in the tight American flag dress, and that woman who took his virginity (although she ended up being married). I can't believe I remember all of this on the top of my head, lol.

Women loooooove complaining and going on television to do so, and will talk about it for anyone who will listen (especially if it has to do with their romance woe). Men don't do that. Race has nothing to do with it.

Are you kidding me? Steve Urkel got Laura in their final season as a last ditch effort to keep the show going. I can list several movies and tv shows where the white nerd gets the girl
Can't Buy Me Love with Patrick Depmsey, meatballs 3 with Patrick Dempsey, Weird Science both guys got the hot girls at the end, Rick morranis in little shop of horrors and ghostbusters, Pee Wee Herman in both Pee Wee movies, The revenge of the nerds.
As far as tv its dedicated to nerdy guys getting the girl. Greek, big bang theory, the oc, I could go on forever but bm and bw love interest are always alphas. Cream of the crop types

When it comes to WM nerds getting the girl in movies and t.v. shows it happens all the time. In fact it's damn near the norm.

In Hollywood WM nerds get shown more love than BM sex symbols.
