Favorite characters in LOTR - in the books were Merry and Pippin (I thought they were hilarious!!), Legolas (I wanted to marry him!), and Sam and Frodo (because of their unbelievable strength and resolve and their unending friendship).

In the LOTR movies - Eomer (because he's dreamy!! :smt016 ); and all of the Hobbits - for the same reasons listed above.

In the HP books - Remus Lupin (he was hot in my imagination, and horrible looking in the movie!) and the Weasley twins (because I loved their comic relief). In the movies: Draco Malfoy!! :smt079 and Ron Weasley and the Weasley twins. Oh, and the movie, I love Voldemort. He's so creepy and cool!! :D

I fell asleep during LOTR and woke up and there was a bridge or something on fire so I went back to sleep. :smt015:smt015

I like the book Brave New World but that's as far as it goes for me and fantasy I think even though it's more sci-fi-ish.

    lol @ sarah.

Fav characters from HP: Hermione (me and her were separate at the birth lol), Dumbledore (LOVE HIM! my grand dad for the last yrs), Sirius Black (he is supposed to be hot, not like in the movie), Luna, Piton (I love the actor in the movie!), and obviously... Fred and George :D. And Hagrid. Oh well, I like everybody besides someone lol.

Fav characters for LOTR: Aragorn:smt050, Sam, Gandalf, Faramir , Arwen (just because I want to be at her place :p), Merry and Pippin (like Fred and George), Legolas.
The one that I really don't like a lot is Frodo. What would Frodo be without Sam? Sam is the boss :D
Aragorn is the knight of my life :D, but Faramir is so cute too, in the movie also.

Here you go TS, complete with favorite characters. :D

I like the Harry Potter series, books more so than the movies, though the movies are good but they stray a bit too much from the books for my taste. I don't like it when they make stuff up that wasn't in the books, or change major characters, etc. Like Harry's eyes for instance, would it have killed them to have Radcliffe wear green contacts? That's mentioned in the books like a zillion times, anyway it's that kinda stuff that bugs me. That's one of the main reason the Twilight movies suck, they don't follow the books hardly at all and the books are actually pretty decent for vampire lore fiction. As for favorite character in Harry Potter, mine is Snape, that man needs a hug and some love. Hagrid runs a close second.

I also love LOTR, books and movies. Jackson actually managed to stick to the books remarkably well IMO. My favorite character is Sam, without Sam they would have all been screwed, and yet he's this humble, unassuming little guy who sees himself as nothing special. When he carries Frodo, I cry every time... but then I'm a sucker for inspiring stuff.

Other fantasy and sci-fi authors that I like are Robert Heinlein, H.G. Wells, C.S. Lewis, and Frank Herbert. Herbert's Dune series in particular is excellent.

    Movie/TV series wise:

Star Trek - Gene Roddenberry was a genius IMO, and I like all the Star Treks, but my favorite would be DS9 or Next Gen, favorite character is Worf, but I also like Picard, Data, La Forge, Sisko, Odo, Quark and O'Brien.

Supernatural - I'm addicted to this show. The dry humor is excellent IMO. My favorite character is Castiel, followed by Sam, Dean and Bobby.

True Blood - this is actually a good series and so much better than the books. It's one of the few times where straying from the books and making changes was a good thing. My favorite character is LaFayette, followed by Eric, Tara, Andy, and Jason. Bill actually annoys the hell outta me.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - that series had a profound amount of sarcastic and dry humor, and I loved it. My favorite character was Spike, followed by Giles, Buffy, and Anya. I thought Angel was an overrated character and he was pretty much a pain in the butt wussy.

Dune - The movie was well done and kept fairly true to the book. My favorite characters were Stilgar and Gurney Halleck.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I've watched that, mostly because I have a crush on Dean. :D

Yeah, he's pretty cute and built nice too. But I absolutely love Castiel's face, he has gorgeous bone structure, and those lips... :smt110

Sometimes. I mostly just watch the movies for the imagery and special effects.

I don't really have any favorites. I do know that I don't really like outer space alien stuff or underwater/submarine stuff.

The imagination and otherworldlyness and feeling like I'm indulging my inner child.

I agree, except I have a thing for big puppy dog eyes and his are kind of squinty for me. :smt083

LOL, I never look at his eyes... the lips, nose and cheekbones just have me mesmerized. I can't even tell you what color his eyes are... how awful is that? I'm gonna guess brown based on his dark hair, but they could be blue for all I know.

Don't feel bad, I didn't even know him by name, I had to open another tab and google him, but then I recognized his face and who he was in that show.
I like Dean's voice too, something about it. :)

I think TS is used to me doing that. I'm a Pisces, making me an enormously facile subject changer. :smt048

Is she an enormously facile subject changer too?

Yes, and she cannot sit still for more than about 10 mins. Always has to be doing something. Great sense of humor though.

That's not so typical for Pisces. Must be something else in her horoscope. :)

She didn't use to be that way, but after she had kids she just became fidgety as heck. It's really annoying actually.

Fidgety makes me think Gemini. After she had kids makes me think Cancer if it's like a nervous fidgety because Cancer's worry a lot and are pretty anxious, especially with babies/kids. Maybe she's got one or both of those in her somewhere.
