...of his time. Don't get me wrong, I loved watching Jordan play. He was my favorite playing growing up. It's 2010. New records, new players. Its a different kind of ball club. Kobe is the modern-day Michael Jordan. It's only a matter of time before he surpasses pretty much all of MJs stats. If he doesn't, so be it. I can't think of anyone else who will.
I feel you. Some would argue Kobe started playing in the NBA much earlier in his life, thus, he had the advantage to do so. Either way, Bryant is off the charts in terms of performance and statistics. I'd like to see someone fill Kobe's shoes....
Negro please!!! When Mike played the level of competition was way better, the degree of talent was off the charts. Is Kobe doing great right now yeah but its like boxing right now. Who care if you're a heavy weight and you didn't go up against Iron Mike or someone who beat him.
Exactly proving my point. Mike did everything he did without a suitable center which again proves Kobe is no MJ
It doesn't matter if Kobe isn't MJ. lol. Bryant has done more than enough to solidify his legendary status. Once Bryant retires, then we can truly discuss all of his accomplishments.
And this is why Kobe will never be MJ, he ain't shit in the clutch. When it's on the line MJ comes through. Kobe will never be better than Jordan because Jordan reinvented the game. when he was doin his thing in the 80s and 90s, players weren't as athletic and being slick with non-traditional play. (much like magic johnson who himself was ahead of his time) but Jordan set the mark for the current players of the day. Kobe isn't resetting the marks in the game. yea, he is gettin his man out there. moving up the charts for Lakers points scored. stacking up rings and such. but he isn't taking the game beyond the heights of his peers. go Lakers!!
good point. that isn't happening anytime soon. unless jennings gets traded to a legitimate contender.
lebron is an amazing talent, and a great player to watch dominate a game (at times)... but i honestly don't think he will get a ring any time soon. he doesn't play well within a system. allbeit a system that had many flaws in cleveland. but still... he has his work cut out for him to graduate to a championship. and if he makes the wrong decision (not like any decision is really wrong out of his options) on where to play next, it may set him back even further on that mission. but he IS a major talent. i definitely respect his presence on the basketball court. give him 3 years and maybe he will get the big picture. maybe... lol
That's fair but here's something to think about would Kobe have the stats he has if he didn't have Shaq drawing double teams like crazy offsetting the defense. I admit he's amazing probably the second best guard in the league and definitely the best 2 guard hands down but stats aren't enough especially when you have a team like the Lakers. Lebron really has no one and Mike made everyone better as proven by the numbers that Pippen and Rodman put up after he left.
