Look, thats why I said for the most part in my initial post. True, some will see them as biracial, but a lot will see them as Black..Dont you have the one drop rule there?

Folks pls let's not forget there are real problems in the black community. I like to deal with reality rather than fanatsy.
Blks folks are awesome, BM are the most loved in the world, BM make pretty babies, c'mon folks let's put down the ganja and let's get real. I think we are letting our love for BLK ppl clouding our logic here

    Study > celebrity opinions

Admittedly, the study was about the US. Maybe the UK is just messed up.

Logic is that when a study comes out showing "that black fathers not living at home are more likely to keep in contact with their children than fathers of any other ethnic or racial group", that maybe it might be right.

Look, I know EVERYONE says Black Men aren't fathers to their children. But EVERYONE said that if a bitch could float she was a witch.

This is why, as civilized people, we defer to science over opinion.

What the hell? You wanna start a US, UK battle?
You may think you actually being good by denying there is a problem. But ultimately if you were Black and held office, you would be doing Black people a diservice. All you would be doing is let people suffer even more. This is a real problem

Its strange how so many people see it as problem. Did they just make it up to get votes, I dont think so..We as Black people are not doing that well generally, and to better ourselves we need to find what the problems are..and there plenty, believe me..

Go talk to someone old. Someone who remembers, say, the 60's.

Back then, EVERYONE believed all kinds of things about Black people that could not be backed up by science.

This is why science > public opinion.

Perhaps they all believe it for the same reason you believe it -- because everyone they know has always believed it.

Throughout the history of this country, that hasn't been a very good measurement of the truth when it comes to Black Men. Pretty much always, everyone has always believed completely ridiculous shit about Black Men.

So, when in doubt, science! It's better than TMZ!

Look, from my first post I agreed that others judge based on appearance. If you follow that line of reasoning to the logical end, my point is that it is of the highest importance to not let the judging of others affect your life or self image in any way.

UnChosen, I hear what you are saying here and there is truth to it, Bill Cosby (and others) for one has been railing against such social problems within the Black community for years. That being said, other ethnicities are facing the same problems, yet it is always BM that are held up as "exhibit A" in all forms of media when a story is done on social ills.

So let's not discourage the positive praise for BM, we can acknowledge the problems that exist, seek answers, and at the same time uplift, encourage and support BM, we don't get enough of that on a national or international basis imho.

I am not disagreeing that there are outstanding blk ppl out there. I have seen or met quite a few myself such as Dr. Benjamin Carson, Dr. Black, Dr. West, Maya Angelou, other unsung poets and community leaders etc... but let's not forget that we do have problems in the community. Sweeping the deficencies under the rug just coz we want to show love to blk folks it is not a logical approach to me.

You all are getting crazy emotional up in here.

An opinion was stated. I pointed out that a study from 2007 refuted it.

A bunch of guys had a little hissy fit.

It is not "pc" to quote studies. It is not "denial" to read. "Reality" isn't just what you've always been taught, it's what you can prove to be true.

I'm sorry I so moved you with my dreadful little interest in facts. Who knew it would be so offensive to you. Have it your way, teach your children opinion. I'll teach my kids science and fact. Sherri Shepard believes the world is flat. Teach your kids that. Why not? Because opinion, in your "Reality", is fact.

LoL, I am not having a hissy fit & am not getting crazy emotional up in here, although I can be an emotionally charged drama queen at times, lol, this is not one of them times.
Anyhoo, Chi, all I am sayin' is, you have to tell a sucky kid that he sucks, point blank, without any sugar coating. If you are always told that you are great and you are fantastic.... you're bound to believe that & will start acting like one of them soccer hooligans and you would not know your deficiencies, that's all.
So blk folks need to get our act together and start taking responsibilty for our actions.
