You're comparing violence to overeating? That's going overboard.

How about we say, if it's not hurting *anyone*, because if anything was victimless, than it's overeating.

It's not enough to say that if affects you because of your insurance or how uncomfortably you sit, because you're not maintaining a fair standard. Are you this put out by giant body builders who take up too much space on the plane? Would you complain about them the same way? Are you concerned by what meat eaters do to your insurance?

They do not affect you in any way disproportionate to the way countless others affect you, whom you are not so oriented on.

It essentially has nothing whatsoever to do with you. They aren't making you eat their food, they aren't raping you, leave 'em alone and let people live their own lives.

I'm libertarian about this. I don't see a point in caring what other people's health is. It's like caring if people smoke cigarettes alone in their own house by themselves. It's none of my business.

Chi are you fucking kidding me? When's the last time a bodybuilder sat next to you anywhere? The pbesity related health problems definitely affect my insurance more so than smoking. Heart disease chronic hypertention and diabetes are a bigger problem than just lung cancerand truthfully I'm not fond of smokers too but no one is trying to make their disgusting habits seem like its ok. Obese people count for a third of this country right now. Its not victimless.

My brother's always been a muscular guy, and I *had* to sit next to him on the bus. It's no picnic. At least overweight people are plushy, there's no room for adjustment with muscles.

Those numbers are a bit bullshit. The obesity numbers are extremely exaggerated in this country. And honestly, I get sick of it. We've got a major *hunger* problem in this country, but nobody cares, we're too busy worrying about the people who have too much to care about those who have too little.

Everyone's disgusting habits are okay. Smoking is okay. Drinking is okay. Fetishes are okay. Fundamentalist Christians are okay. Vegans are okay. People who like watching "the good wife" are okay.

Just because someone makes choices in their life that are not ones that I would make does not mean I have a right to give a shit, much less comment on them.

People are murdering, torturing, harassing, raping, molesting, robbing, demeaning, abusing, manipulating, deceiving, beating, and violating other people every day. If someone wants to harm only themselves I think that's fucking beautiful. We should throw them a parade just for leaving the rest of us the fuck alone.

Well I hope you and the rest of the peanut gallery keep buying into that bullshit. Peoples self inflicted bad habits eventually spread out to the rest of us but go on believing that live and ,et live theory. Its apparently doing wonders for us.

Ummm the obesity epidemic is definitely NOT exaggrated in the US. No doubt the US has a LOT of problems, but it would be naive and foolish to think that obseity is not one of them.

But oh well, keep enjoying your KFC double downs.:smt023

Andrae what about the people in this country who are obese because they are eating the foods that are cheap that fill their stomachs but aren't healthy foods. They can't afford all the good foods that would make them healthy. Things like fruits, veggies and better meats. In the U.S. many times the obese are the poor because of lack of good diet. In other countries being fat is a sign of having wealth or priviledge. I.E. China.

You are equating obesity with laziness or disregard for your own health. Sometimes it is neither.

    WHAT?!?!?!:smt118

Ummmm eating out at restaurants is more expensive then cooking your own food. I do want to bring up the fact that eating out is more convienant than fixing your own food. Our country is waaaaay too obsessed with fast food and eating out at restaurants in general.

I think she's referring to the dollar menus and the like at fast food spots vs. buying healthy food at the store. Processed garbage is always cheaper. Why do you think Top Ramen is a huge seller for broke college kids? And to think what's in that shit. (although it tastes good)

i dont see where jordan said these people were dining out at resturants

over here folks can get ready meals dirt cheap along with cheap biscuits, crisps, cakes etc

in the supermarkets here fresh fruit, veg and meats etc can be rather expensive

should point out i dont buy the low nutrition foods, i trawl the local meat market for good deals and i cook fresh food at home for my family daily but some people are laking in cooking skills these days and dont know where to get cheaper cuts or how to cook them so they stick to foods they can prepare and at a proce they can afford

take some uni students for example. they are living on a very limited budget. my sister can cook but spent 3 years living on a diet of noodles with stuff like cheap ham and cheese added or beans on toast topped up by cheap biscuits and crisps to fill her up

JC point well made but here's something to ponder. The people who can't afford healthy food aren't the ones I'm talking about because those people are less likely to have insurance so they won't affect my premiums. But I do agree that a lot of people are forced into eating unhealthy foods due to poverty

Just a question, not trying to say anything, I'm just curious, why are African Americans so fond of overweight people?, no matter how you cut it, this Chloe Marshall chick is overweight, period, and that's nothing to be proud of, I don't think she should be a model at all, an overweight model is like a singer that can't sing.

If you like her body type, that's fine, it's your preference, but don't try to say it's normal because it's not.

    Jordan's right, of course.

In poorer neighborhoods, healthy food is significantly more expensive and harder to come by than junk food.

In Chicago, they did a study on this and found many "food deserts". These are places where there are few grocery stores within a reasonable distance that sell produce or healthy food of any kind. Frequently junk food is easy to come by in these places.

This is in part because crappy food stays good for a long time. So it's cheaper to stock crap on your shelves in a neighborhood that doesn't have a lot to spend on food.

Nowadays, nearly the entire south side of Chicago is rated as a food desert.

These aren't wild theories of the far left. This is documented science, that for poor families living in poor neighborhoods it is significantly more expensive to eat healthy than it is to eat foods high in sugar, calories and salt.

Again, I'm not trying to offend anyone, you like what you like, I'm just curious as to why American bros are always drooling over these women.

You started that sentence so offensively. How do you expect not to be met with harsh words? Well I'll start. Who the fuck said that black americans are fond of the overweight. Its what the damn media highlights. Damn!
