still here. i fly back home tomorrow.
it's been a solid trip. a friend of mine was chasting me for not calling him on saturday, so i went to hang out with him and his peeps at jax beach... i had a blast. got good and drunk, was riding a bike and fell off. lol good times...

For those following the story, :smt043, here's an update on my brother:

He is still in FL. He didn't call my parents back in time on Saturday to get info about the only flight out that day. They told him Sunday was out of the question because we had a family party. They told him Monday or Tuesday.

He said he'd call them Monday morning. They waited and waited. Monday night rolls around and he calls and talks to my Dad. My Dad said he was slurring his words. My Dad asked if he had been drinking, he said, yes. He, ironically, went to an AA meeting, then borrowed money from someone there and went and got himself drunk. Oh boy.

Needless to say, he's proving that I was correct all along.

And enough of my siblings have talked sense into my parents and they've admitted that they don't want him living there. They are currently looking for a halfway house or shelter for him to live in once he's here. It's now Wednesday and he's still not in Chicago.

My Dad asked me yesterday if I was serious when I said that we weren't going to move in if my brother moves back to live with them. I said, yes, I was serious. I said I didn't want to expose my daughter to that type of high stress environment. I said, no one deserves to live in those kinds of conditions, especially you guys. They've more than paid their dues in regards to my brother. I think they're finally seeing the light and being honest with themselves - trusting their guts over their hearts.

We shall see if anything ever comes of this.

 

Bookie, I followed, but honestly don´t know,what to say. It is very sad that your brother lost all his respect in your eyes. I know, you are right, it already takes too long, he won´t find his way back. In that case you have to make your decisions- but you lost or will loose your brother definitly- and this isn´t easy.

 

I feel very depressed, I dont know what hit me..... it's like a wave of hurricane katrina depression.... I am sure I have some sort of chemical imbalance.....this ups and downs, sucks....I am glad my ex left me.... as nice and joyfuly guy as I am... sometimes I have this down mood.... it is not like I am taking upper and downers.....oh well....Thank God I am not a psychiatrist, I would have hang myself right in the lock unit.

 

Good grief, will you stop your whining? At least your car troubles don't match those of Seinfeld's "The Smelly Car".
