I'm in the Gainesville area - ya know, GO GATORS, lol!! One of my best friends is in Jacksonville - I should hire her out to be your tour guide, hahaha. Do you have family in FL?

yea, or just have her tell you some of the hotspots and share the knowledge. would be much appreciated. and yea, i go to jax to see my bro & his fam. which is cool but it would be nice to have some social activity as well while i'm there. i don't have kids so playing with kids gets old quick. lol

LOL...kids are fun!!! Of course, I used to be a preschool teacher, so I could play with kids for hours, hahahaha. How many kids are there?

I'll have to see if I can get a hold of her before the weekend and see what the locals do up there. ;)

    kids are fun! :)

don't travel the state too much, really. not b/c i don't want too, but just b/c it costs money - something I seem to be lacking these days. :smt120 lol...i'm from this area, but lived down in lakeland for 5yrs...that's located right between tampa and orlando. tampa can be alot more fun...orlando on the other hand is skank, lol. i have traveled all over though in the past - been all the way down to the keys (honeymoon) and have spent countless hours all the way up north in the panama city area. FL's just great all around. :smt003

shoot, you'd love G'ville then...lol we got gator tail, THE GATORS, beer...oh, and don't forget the endless supply of white women, LOL. :smt081

yea, there are white women ALL over florida tho. lol
yea, tampa is nice. i really liked st pete. been to ft myers, i thought it was a lil too slow for my taste. west palm beach can be fun. i liked south beach but not sure i would enjoy the rest of miami. daytona sucks to me. lol didn't have much fun in orlando neither.

so i want to see ft lauderdale and i need to make it to the keys.

THE KEYS are the most incredible place I've been in FL. Just absolutely breathtaking!!
Tampa is alot of fun - lots to get into there. And if you like roller coasters, they've got Busch Gardens. :D
St Pete is okay depending on the part of town you're in - to me it's more like a ghetto-fied Tampa, lol.
    Orlando sucks...period.
Daytona is ehhh...I spent a week on the beach there with some friends a few years ago. We had alot of fun, but it really just depends on who you're with and what time of the year it is.
Miami - while alot of people like it, I could take it or leave it. Maybe I'm just old, lol...the whole club scene isn't my cup of tea.
Palm Beach is really pretty though...not quite as Miami'esque.
Ft Myers i've never been too, but heard it is a little slow.
Ft. Lauderdale I pretty much only drove through, but it seemed nice.

Have you ever been to the panhandle? Pensacola, Panama City, Navarre (sp?), Ft Walton Beach - all alot of fun! My husband was stationed at Tyndall in Panama City for almost 2yrs before we were married, so I spent countless weekends up there. The beaches are incredible!! :D

i like and agree with your thoughts on st pete. dare i say it, that's why i liked st pete. lol tampa was cool but at times a lil too snot-baggy for me. i was stayin in a lil sub section too, saftey harbor (?), that was lil too put offish to me. plus st pete had a bunch of blues bars, and i definitely fux with that.

nah, i haven't been to the panhandle yet. the only time i hear about that area is in regards to spring break. and i definitely am too old for all of that kinda stuff. if i'mma do a big crowded party, i'd go to carnaval somewhere exotic. lol

lol @ snot-baggy!! that's hilarious, but i know what you mean. st pete does have the blues bars which can be alot of fun.

yeah, the panhandle gets a really bad rap of being a giant orgy during spring break. but, the rest of the year, it's not so bad. i never did the spring break thing...i guess i've always had an old spirit, lol. dare i ask how old you are? oh, and if you like seafood - the panhandle is off the chain!

    i'm 33.
i did black college weekend in daytona beach back in my senior of college. that shit was pretty fuckin wild. so i could only imagine how over the top spring break is with a bunch of privileged white kids. lol

yea, i love seafood. another fantastic aspect of being in florida, all the fresh catch. (hmm... am i still talkin about food there?) hahaha

Dude, the food is freaking awesome!! Me and the hubs are serious seafood lovers...we always feel sorry for people who don't like seafood. They honestly don't know what they're missing. :smt108 lol.

I didn't know they had "black college weekend"...man, I should've hit that stuff up when i was single - I could've been the token white girl, LMAO. Yeah when all those white kids get together, things get pretty crazy to say the least. I remember visiting my husband in PC when spring break was going on - it was crazy. You can't go anywhere...pretty wild.

33 is NOT old, lol. My hubs will be 33 in a few months...I'm still a youngling at the ripe age of 28, lol. I'm fresh meat!! :smt043

33 is old to me... when the context is spring break and college kids. lol
i don't feel sorry for people who don't like seafood... more for me. lol
i'm not sure if black college wkend would have been your cup of tea. but who knows. it was exactly like freaknik. so... yea, i think we know where i'm going with this. lol

Today was my mom's surgery. The surgery lasted for 8 1/2 hours. She has been in recovery for almost 3 hours now. They are have a hard time waking her because her surgery was so long. The surgery went well though and for that I'm thankful. It's been an exhausting day, and I just needed to vent. :)
