15 things you did not know about me

I'm always looking for tracks and pianists to write with/for.

 

i had to write some stuff in college for a couple classes - i think i've written like a half dozen songs in my entire musical career, lol. composition is not my strong point by a long shot. i always envied the composition majors - it blows my mind that some people have such a gift. :smt001

who'd a thunk it?...a bunch of white women and black men with musical talent, lol. it's pure craziness, i tell ya. :smt048

i'll see what i can do as far as a video. i so wish i had my senior recital on video. or even on cd and i could upload the file. makes me really sad that i got gypped. :smt022 i could post videos of other people performing the pieces i did, but i guess that wouldn't be the same.

 

I admire people like you. I wish I could play an instrument. I do things by ear. I listen to a track or a piece and see what vibe I get from it and then I write. I can't sing, but I know how to write a melody, a hook and a bridge and convey how I want it to sound. The thing is, I have to feel the work, if not nothing will come out on my end. (that sounded nasty...lol)

That sucks about your recital.

Maybe you can play a piece, Andrae can put a beat to it and I can write the words. Now we just need a singer. We can be the WWBM band...lol

girl, i have major respect for people who play/write solely by ear! that takes skillz!

the recital thing does suck...it's been 3yrs and i'm still bitter. :smt086 for what it's worth, here's the 3rd movement to the sonata i played for my senior recital. gosh, i wish i had myself playing it. it is such an incredible piece. oh, and i'm so down with the wwbm band - and didn't bookworm and TheEnd say they were in too? now we just need a name, lol.

Thank you, but I just do it as a hobby. I wish I had I had stuff recorded, but I don't have anything to show for my work except when I sing and play someone a track, but not together.

If it makes you feel any better, I performed in a talent show in 9th grade and it as recorded and I never got a copy. I'd love to see my performance.

Wish I didn't stop playing instruments, and I wish I learned piano back when I was a kid. It's a bitch teaching myself now. I can't make beats without knowing how to play on the keys n' shit.
