He should have never joined Black Sabbath, he's a decent singer but his image is now forever marred, Ozzy is irreplaceable!!!
Sepultura?, of course I do, they're from Belo Horizonte too, I used to like "Arise" when I was younger, they kinda suck without Max though... As for Black Sabbath, Black Sabbath without Ozzy is not Black Sabbath, their first 5 albums (black sabbath, paranoid, master of reality, volume 4 and sabbath bloddy sabbath) are true masterpieces, don't get me wrong I respect Dio but Ozzy is the man, the band was never the same without him. This song used to scare the hell out of me when I first got into them, and so did that upside down cross inside the album sleeve, oh man now I'm getting nostalgic lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akt3awj_Ah8
Agreed. Everybody has their own preferences in re: What configuration of personnel they dug/dig the *most*.. I am of the army that sez Sabbath without Ozzy....is like a day without sunshine. (Sorry about that, Florida Orange Growers' Committee) Same with Deep Purple, after they threw out senior member Ian Gillan in the 1990's, I just did *not*...and to-day *still* do not...get into the band all that heavy... Ronnie James Dio, R.I.P. - I now observe 5 Minutes Of Silence in Honour of Your Memory.. OpinionsCartoonStudios@Yahoo.Co.UK
I was joking with you by bringing up the most famous Brazilian heavy metal band. Well they kicked him out of the band. Imo, all the Sab albums were great to average after Ozzy left. The first three 3 with Dio and Gillan are classics imo because of those singers . Sab became something else. Ozzy needed to leave. He needed to meet Randy and start his great solo career.
Why would I do that?, it's true, I used to love Black Sabbath, I wasn't so obsessed with doom metal back then, I didn't even know Empyrium lol.
By the way, if you haven't heard of Empyrium, check them out, they were a big discovery for me in 2005, they have been my favorite band ever since. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-zIM6_mYzE
You don't replace as charismatic a front man as Ozzy. That's true even considering Dio is just as charismatic in his own way and an incredible singer! I won't get into the Dio vs. Ozzy debate, but I do agree that when Dio was recruited to join the remaining members of Sabbath, the band's name should've been changed.
