Fair enough, but I will have to continue to object when you blame liberals for things that clearly have nothing to do with liberals.

This is a defeatist attitude. Basically we should just lay down as a nation and let Mexico and other illegal immigrants have their way huh?

By the way, both parties have done a great amount to set this country back. The Democrats arent exactly innocent either. There is a lot of inept leadership within that party which is disturbing to say the least.
Even though I am a registered Democrat, I now consider myself an Independent and againist the two party system (but thats for a whole other debate).

chicity, you should look up how much illegals are costing the state of Arizona. The results will astound you:shock:. And thats just in that state. Other states are getting finacially raped by this illegal immigration problem as well.

No, it's not a defeatist attitude. It's a realistic assessment of the facts.

I am actually very optimistic in my belief of what America as a nation is capable of.

There is something very different between being optimistic enough to believe one can soar metaphorically to great achievements, and believing one can actually sprout wings and fly.

Nowhere have you seen me defend Democrats in this thread. I have spoken only of liberals. There is a distinct difference between party affiliation and ideology.

And yet you support wasting more resources to find them, jail them, and send them home. That's like driving to save gas, it doesn't make sense.

Wow great points there chicity. I also dont think we should hunt down and find murders, rapists or child molesters either. Just a waste of money as well.

By the way, are you aware that Phoenix is by far the city in the US with the most kidnappings each year? Probably wouldnt have anything to do with being so close to Mexico. Nah.

Shame on the state of Arizona for trying to inforce the law!!:smt011

No, we arrest and jail murderers, rapists, and child molesters so that we can protect our communities and sometimes to seek justice for victims.

You suggested that we had an economic reason to deport illegal aliens. If the sole motivation is economic, then you are suggesting we spend money to save money, which only makes sense if we're certain that we'll come out ahead. There's no indication that's true, given the amount of resources it would take to deport all illegals, and given the unlikelihood of financial improvement as a result of deportation.

From what I've read, most of the criminality related to illegal aliens is related to Mexican gangs. Most experts suggest that the fastest way to eliminate that crime is to legalize marijuana, thus removing the gangs motivation for being here. In much the same way that ending prohibition ended the violence common to that era.

Chicity, I am definitely all for legalizing pot. I think we can agree there.:smt028

However, strict border laws should be inforced everywhere.

The US should follow Mexico's immigration policy.

Race relations aren't going to get any better if people continue to draw the lines in the sand like this.

    I'm just sayin'.

Neither does the embrace your enemy approach. They drew the line not us which is usually the case when you have anything vs black. Many people feel we are inferior based on skin complextion and medi propoganda painting us as weak minded and lazy. So its us against the world apparently.

    Power

The answer to this latino on black violence is power. We live in a modern age where now more than ever we need not outnumber an enemy to defeat them. We should be collaborating with those Africans who support us and work towards getting more and more real power. And by that I mean the physical power to severly punish our enemies. That's the best way you stop assault from enemies. It's 2010, we shouldn't have to be hoping on some new civil rights movement to get latinos to stop attacking us.
