Elbow strain, bone bruise for LeBron

Cleveland's LeBron James has been diagnosed with a strain and bone bruise in his injured right elbow, but is not expected to miss any time as the Cavaliers prepare to meet the Celtics in an Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Here's the full release from the team:
Cavaliers forward LeBron James underwent further evaluation at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health last evening by Cavaliers Head Team Physician Dr. Richard Parker and Dr. Mark Schickendantz. He was re-examined, with x-rays and MRI reviewed. LeBron has a strain of his right elbow and a bone bruise of his olecranon. He will undergo daily treatments and revaluation and a repeat MRI will be performed next week. It is not anticipated that he would miss any playing time. His status will be updated as appropriate.
In four regular-season games against Boston this season, James averaged 36.5 points, 8.3 assists and 6.5 rebounds.

Could this Cleveland series be the last hurrah for the Big Three?

With free agency possibly looming for Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, the Cavaliers series could be the end of the line for the Big Three, not to mention coach Doc Rivers. Here's more from colleague Peter May:
When the Boston Celtics take the floor for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, they will be doing so (A) as consensus underdogs for the first time in three years and (B) without home-court advantage for the first time in three years.

Which begs the following: Will this also be the last time we see the new Big Three together?

Regardless of what happens in the series, the times they are indeed a-changin' in Celtic Nation. Ray Allen will become a free agent. Doc Rivers may decide he's had enough. Paul Pierce could become a free agent if he opts out of his current deal. Tony Allen, Nate Robinson and Marquis Daniels also will be free agents along with Brian Scalabrine, Michael Finley and Shelden Williams. Daniels and Robinson were supposed to be key reserves, but Rivers clearly has lost faith in both of them and their futures in Boston look dim.

The only players with firm commitments for 2010-11 are Kevin Garnett, Kendrick Perkins, Rajon Rondo, Glen Davis and, ahem, Rasheed Wallace.

Is this the beginning of the end for Rivers and the Big Three? Will they be just a memory -- albeit a pleasant one for most -- in just two weeks' time? We know this much: The parties may go their separate ways this summer but starting Saturday, they are still together and, they say, as determined and motivated as ever. We'll have to see if that's enough to keep them together a little while longer.

yea, great possibility that will go 7 games. spurs know how to scrap, especially when they're outmatched

I expected the Cavaliers to win today but I didn't think it would happen the way it did.

Halfway through the game, I could've swore they were gonna lose.

Damnit, Boston. They got my hopes up. :smt095

Orlando is taking the east again this year. lebron will be a pissed off little kid yet again. oh well. shaq doesn't deserve to see another finals anyway.

Lakers SHOULD repeat, if they stop falling asleep during their games. utah should not have had as much of a window of opportunity as they did yesterday. not a good look. if that was a spurs game, Lakers would be down 0-1

If there's one team in the East to stop the Cavs it would either be the Orlando Magic or the Boston Celtics. More than likely it would be the Orlando Magic.

And yes, Lakers need to get their second unit playing more consistent and effective. When the starters get subbed out, the bench blows the leads and forces the starting players to come back and clean up their mess. Not acceptable.

Also, if we were playing the Spurs and we did that in Game 1, more than likely we would be down 0-1.

I know it pains you to say it, but that's nice you admit it.

You will. I'll make a bet you'll post Laker stuff. If you don't do it, it's cause you're trying to prove me wrong...lol

I think George is yummy, but go Suns!
