All of the actors you mention are marketed heavily to White Women. Denzel is never portrayed as lusting after a White Woman he's deeply in love with.

It is extremely easy to find White Women lusting after Black Heartthrobs on the internet. Nearly all of Cobb's fanbase is White female. Nearly all of Taye Diggs' fanbase is White female. Nearly all of Blair Underwood's fanbase is White female.

Again, you are suggesting White Women don't like something because it hasn't been given to them.

Time and time again we see that people are usually attracted to people of their own race its not a big mystery. Should skin color matter absolutely not but it does and trust me no matter how bigoted any industry wants to be they care about money far more. Sports is a great indication of that. Most owners being as old as they are would probably love to see all white if not majority white teams again but unless you own a hockey team that's not gonna happen.

Again I have to back up UnChosen on this one. None of those guys listed could carry a romantic movie the way george clooney or brad pitt could. I guarantee you Brown Sugar did not gross anything close to a romantic movie with a white male lead. Stop acting like fantasy has nothing to do with wanting to believe you can have something similar to what you're seeing.

 

I have already explained the money. Let me try this again:

If you give Women a movie with a decent romance, White Women will go see it.

Kinda like, if you make a Star Trek movie, trekkies will go see it.

It doesn't matter who you put in those roles. The producers know that they do not need to put IR in the film in order to get White Women to buy tickets.

So why bother? The advertisers who really pay for these films don't want IR. The producers who greenlight the film in the first place don't want IR. The media moguls who promote the film don't want IR.

How many movie companies are owned by Disney? What kind of racial history does Disney have? (clue: not a good one).

But just because White Women are not boycotting films because of their lack of IR, does not mean they would not like to see IR onscreen.

Meanwhile, most WM actively do not want to see WW with BM onscreen. And BW raise holy hell every time it happens.

So what is the benefit to casting a romance with IR? There isn't any, besides actually producing something that WW might like more. But there's no tangible reason for anyone to care about that. So they don't.
