The Something New board has morphed from a movie board into a forum for all things ir related. It's biased towards WM/BW though.

The same Halle Berry article that was posted here was posted on the Something New board earlier today. It already had one angry reply from a BW by the time I read it. This BW who responded is well known for starting numerous threads which bash BM.

A bit later I noticed the same article here. But by the time I went back to the Something New board (less than an hour) the article was already deleted. Like I said, those sistas work fast over there.

Had the article been about a BM breaking up with a WW, that thread would have likely still been up.

That being basically an IR and race discussion board, a lot of the same thread subjects pop up on this board and the SN board on the same day. The difference in reaction from both boards can be pretty interesting.

Such as the thread on this board regarding the "nerdy black men" article by Von. It's in the media section titled "Never satisfied, why nerdy black men can't find happiness." Most on this board were less than impressed with Von's theories.

Here's a link to the Something New board, and how they reacted to the exact same article.

This is unfortunate for Halle. I got love for the gorgeous sistah, but admit I'm not surprised by this at all. It's like they say -- "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I mean, how many more times is this going to go on with her, or any success Hollywood female like her, and we not start to think that (gasp) the problem is HER????

Think about it. She's an absolute gorgeous (half) black woman, whose successful and freespirited. ANY cat would want to get with her. She's had the pick of the litter of men from the beginning. Now, we can give her a pass with Dave Justice, since it was reported he was a physically abusive dick. So she moves on eventually to a seemingly mild-manner "nice" guy type in Eric Benet. But then that goes awry with reports of him cheating. Although from what I remember, he stated, the Hollywood lifestyle was too smothering for him in a black relationship. But that's a whole other thread entirely. Finally, she ends up with her handsome "white knight," who she has a child with and it's happily ever after right??? Think again.

Let's look at the issues here. Reportedly, he stated it was the age difference and some outside influences of more suitable females which lead him to the split. This from a guy who alleged that age was never a factor in it at all. My thing is this. Think about it fellas. WHO wouldn't want to be smashing HALLE Berry every night??? Yeah, 43?? She don't look 33. Ok, Ok, Ok, maybe he looked around and saw other chicks who were gorgeous and they tried to get at him. What dude hasn't gone through that? Nah, I think the problem here is .... Halle herself. I mean, what other type of man does she need to be given in order to be happy? With the exception of her first marriage, all the others leave for some obscure reason apparently not related to being in love with her. I just think it's SHE who needs to start doing some soul searching and ask why they all leave. Otherwise, just like typical Hollywood relationships, this type of thing will continue to happen to her.

    C'mon now...
I think people are reading WAY too much into this.....

I dont think she sticks out in any way when it comes to failed relatioships in Hollywood as pretty much the vast majority in Hollywood cant make a relationship work -this is not specific to Halle... Its Hollywooditis.

Same thing you're probably thinking. I don't know why people need to blame anyone. They split amicably, they aren't slinging mud at each other, why do other people who don't know jack about the actual situation feel the need to do so?

Like I said if there's any actual truth to him ending it because he was looking at someone else, then at least he left first. How many times recently have we read about someone who was screwing around while still married? It seems to have become fairly common. I know that you can be in a committed relationship with someone and suddenly someone else comes along and gets your attention. I have a friend who was married, and thought he was happy until one day he met Ms. Right at work. He wasn't looking, but they just clicked and he knew. He told his wife, divorced her and then pursued the other woman. Now while I'm sorry his wife lost out, I really approve of the way he did it. Ultimately I think there really is the 'right one' out there for most people, and if I was married to someone and I knew he felt that for someone else I'd want him to pursue that. Who wants to be someone's obligation? Everyone should have someone who thinks the sun rises and sets because of them, I'm not a fan of settling, and I sure wouldn't expect someone to settle for me. It's unfortunate their relationship ended, regardless of the reason but better two happily single people, than two miserable people together. At least they are working things out amicably and not fighting about money or custody. I admire them for that.

Who cares what you wonder about.

We grew up hearing "chile imma' have me a pretty by a WM".

That line of thinking hasn't gone away..they just don't say it out loud as much.

    Now go back to wonderring.

My comment seems to have upset some up in here..even though it's TRUE.

We all KNEW Hit n' run Halle would SUDDENLY get pregnant soon as she stepped out with ol' dude.

Like we can't joke about it.
