I know a lot of women (of all races) that would write off a guy just based on what he earns salary wise. You think thats an important thing that guys look at?? Come on now, of course not. A lot of females still have that spoiled outlook on things and wish for a "provider" for them.

I made my point and the person I was replying to acknowledged, issue resolved. I have implemented a strict 'ignore the trolls' policy recently and I'm trying to stick to it.

 

You know its funny I had I conversation with my mom the other night about this and she gave me something to think on. The reason why a lot of us men see women as shallow and materialistic in this country is because we live in a culture if greed. In almost every other industrialized country they emphasize more on education than just getting stuff. I think in part that has to do with the fact the ooportunity to become wealthy is greater here so everyone wants it. She told me the problem with my generation on a whole is we've forgetten about people. Our lives are dedicated to isolationist capitalism (my words not hers, I'm an accountant my mom's a nurse lol). We (in the general sense not all) have gotten to a point where people are expendable as long as we have stuff. So is it really hard to believe a lot of young women raised in this culture want to be with a guy who can get them stuff or help them get more stuff. Also reading the comments on this threat I gotta agree we as men are shallow too (again the general not all). I think the disconnect comes in when we try to discuss this because in a man's mind being shallow about looks almost makes sense because we all value physical attraction we all want to be physically stimulated but when we see a lot of women impressed and hooked on guys with money especially when the women make their own money it creates frustration. Its almost like even if you can take care of yourself you still want a man to do it for you. Its an immediate quid pro quo situation not the come as you are kind of love you thought you'd find as a kid.
