Very glad to see that even as a young man he had enough integrity and character to speak his mind and call them on their BS even when faced with the prospect of losing out on a small fortune. Also a very important point is that he had a wonderful mentor in Mr. Potier that gave him great advice at a crucial time.

Sounds like Denzel almost fell victim to the Blaxploitation-Era. I'm really glad he turned his back on that filth and decided to go elsewhere. Unfortunately, there were still many other BM and BW willing to do anything for a paycheck and some so-called fame.

What an awful time that was in the industry.

it is tuff on Black actors and actress but it doesnt help when you have people like tyler perry. TP is making an evolution is his films but the start was no good.

    Denzel chose not to sell-out.:smt045

    VERY, VERY INTERESTING

@ about 1:24 D. Wash states he called Sidney Poitier. Sidney told him "I'm not going to tell you what to do Denzel but the first 2,3 or 4 films will dictate how you are perceived in this business"

Will Smith stated when he accepted the role in the film Six Degrees of Separation he called Denzel because the script called for his character, which was gay, the script had a kissing scene with Anthony Michael Hall.

Will stated he asked Denzel should he perform that scene. Denzel told him the same thing Sidney told him. This was Will's third movie at the time.

DZ is making an excellent point. This is a classic exmpale of how some nature force guide you life to one path rather than the opposite path. It pretty much states that how your life could have gone completely in opposite directions for better for worse.....

    Pardon me, but I'm confused.

It's 'too bad' that Denzel doesn't like WW.

Yet in the Doutzen Kroes thread you're concerned that she only dates black men.

This seems a bit contradictory to me?

No, I wasn't concerned, in fact seeing white women with black men makes me very proud and happy, that picture made my day (that's what I am anyway, without this particular racial pairing I wouldn't have been born in the first place), I was just shocked that in a country where the overwhelming majority of men are white she would only date black men, that's very unsusual, never seen a white celebrity who only dates black men (at least not publicly), and her being so gorgeous, wow, just wow...

I'm onto you meu querido amigo. Like I said before you're either on here pretending to be black or you're black and super ugly with inferior complexity at that for you to think that a gorgeous women to be with a black man as a shock.

Thanks, that would be my eye. They're polychromatic so the color varies from day to day. That's actually not a great pic, but it was the best I had at the time.
