Yes, there are many that give a good southern girl a bad name. But many of those girls are also transplants who claim to be southern cause they live here. :smt101

Andrae, how could we not love you!? :smt060

I wonder if my ex and yours were one in the same! lol Let's just say that relationship didn't go to far. Also, he was one of the almighty know-it-alls. He constatly had to 'prove' himself. (And he was usually wrong! :smt081) And he could never keep a story straight. It changed every 20 minutes. He's start talking and I would :smt015 ...

I'll take the loveable, huggable, kissable nerd anyday! :smt049

I think people like this just like to hear themselves talk. They don't think about half of the stuff they say.

Agreed. There are sooooo many different attitudes in the south now because so many new types of people are moving here. There is no such thing as the "Southern Bell" anymore. They are extinct.

I just had a job offering up in smoky mountains so I might hold you to that. LoL
Nah I am not moving to Tennessee for a job unless of course it comes with some hefty package. LoL

Don't be fooled, she is not talking about Black male "nerds", or a Black version of what a White nerd is a la Steve Urkel.

She's conflating "swagerless" Black men who don't behave like thugs and masking them as nerds merely to find a parallel to the numerous Black women who say they can't find happiness.

What passes as a "Black nerd" is merely the norm for other groups of men who see intelligence and the pursuit thereof as merely an extension of themselves, not some separate path outside the realm of their culture merely pursued for a paycheck.

Black men who have voiced these issues are self assured enough to have tried with these Black women; real Black nerds never bothered to, due to their lack of social interaction/skills with women, thus one of the reason they are considered nerds.

As Nikon so brilliantly stated, if these Black nerds were to date their so-called social equivalents it would be these slovenly, rotundess, "fried or fake" Black women, but unfortunately these women, "body confidence and all" are trying to net Reggie Bush or some "baller" way out of their league. They don't want "swagerless" Black men either, and for the so called Black female "nerds" (those who don't buy that swagger crap either) many of them want White men (See Karma's statements).

I don't care if he is a nerd like Urkel or just some guy who doesn't have that 'baller swag'.

When I was in school and someone was called a nerd their were usually the ones who didn't fit the 'norm', ie the jock, prep, redneck, gangstas, whatever. It didn't matter.

Because of 'social status' and being young and immature I wouldn't have dated them then, but I learned there was more to someone then what 'label' they were given. I've come to appreciate and loves those nerds. Atleast, they stay true to themselves and don't give a damn about what society thinks.

I know it was just a TV show, but didn't Urkel have Myra?

The single ones can be found on any interracial dating site.com geared towards bw. I've seen their profiles and caught myself thinking, "she seems cool" (the ones that aren't revenge dating, that is).

On a different note, as bonsai pointed out, those bw are also the ones that would probably be genuine friends and acquaintances of ladies on this site who date bm.

My close friend Di is a nerdy bw and she dates all different races of men. She will be the last one to make comments on a ww dating a bm.

One of the many reasons I love hangin with that girl!

It would be hilarious if the blogger traced the link back to this thread to find all these cute white girls giving love and support to all the "nerds" she bashed.

And she DID have a question that she thought black "nerds" could never answer.
    It's been answered here.

It's a shame some people wouldn't want a man who's well-rounded, cultured and most importantly, intelligent.
