What's up all. Just droppin in to bring some NFL love. ONly 11 days till the draft and i'm gettin pumped up. Yeah it sucks it starts on a Thursday night and the second and third rounds are friday night. That is still all good by me. I'll be doin my draft party as usual.

What's your team and who do you want them to pick with your "earliest" pick? (Some teams trade away their first round picks, like those poor Bears fans did for Jay Cutler's bum ass!)

Por moi: New England Patriots (check the avatar)
If you go to espn.com or nfl.com and talk to other fans, you will find that we tend to be a pass happy offensive minded bunch of fucks. Everyone wants them to go Dez Bryant or Demytrius Thomas, both WRs. However, i'm a more rational fan and know that scoring has not been an issue for us at any point the last 10 years or so and that will continue even with Wes Welker expected to miss the first 8 games or so.

Ultimate needs for the pats are O-line, D-line, TE, Linebacker and we will actually need to take a QB at some point. Only went with 2 last year and it's not something they want to do again. A running back wouldn't hurt either.

I personally would like the 22nd overall pick to go with Javid Best, RB, Cal, or a D-lineman, most likely a 5 technique DE who can play anywhere on the line due to our base 3-4 defense. I hear Jared Odrick, a DT out of Penn state fits the bill. An earlier named option was Brandon Graham out of Michigan, but he was pure outside pass rusher and never played inside. He would need to adapt to the needs of the position, therefore, Odrick is a better fit, and a bigger dude to block.

Anyone else like to chip in? Go Pats!

That would be Ndamukong Suh. The man is a human wrecking ball and will continue to be for the next 12 years or whenever his knees give out. Whichever comes first in this league.

    Update:

It appears clear that the Rams are going to be taking QB Sam Bradford with the first overall pick out of Oklahoma. I have had him pegged as the #1 ever since the season ended. He has all the measurables and required arm strength to make all the difficult throws in the NFL. He will also be demanding a contract of at least 60 Million cumulative for 4 to 7 years. I truly believe he is worth it and will prove it over the first 3 years of his career.

Pinky will admit she knows very little about football, but...

Is Terrence Cody (Alabama) in the draft this year? I know when we were looking through my HS yearbook, someone metioned that there was talk of him going to the draft ... But I have no clue ... Anyone care to fill me in!?

I haven't been watching college football or keeping up with players like I normally do, so I really don't know what to say about my Eagles and the draft. I'll make an extended effort to watch college ball this year tho.

    lol yeah no shit

I read the ticker on NFL network and it said that Reid announced Kevin Kolb was going to be number 1 on the depth chart for QB for 2010.

    Seriously?

    Is Kolb even a leader?

they may as well start Tim Tebow

I can help you out a bit PettyJay....

My buddy is a serious eagles fan and we have several serious discussions regarding those birds from week to week. He has been waiting to turn the page on the McNabb era in Philly for quite some time. His wish finally came true this season. There are several facts that support the idea that Andy Reid made the CORRECT decision in dumping the franchises most successful QB in history.

    1. He traded him IN THE DIVISION!!! Virtually unheard of actually. That points towards 2 facts. Andy Reid is perfectly confident in his team's ability to stop it's former quarterback, mostly because he knows his major weaknesses and how to exploit them. Also, he must have seen enough from former #2 Kolb to pull the trigger on the trade. The public has seen two performances with Kolb at starting QB. Both were quite impressive from what i remember: a 400 and 300 yard performance with some seriously accurate throws, that honestly, McNabb has never been able to do consistently.

    2. The Eagles over the years have had a serious knack for dumping high paid players at JUST the right times. Don't believe it? Why has their defense been ranked in the top 10 the last 10 years? They know how to manage a roster right with the best of em. There's a reason Andy Reid has had his job so long and this is the most important one.

    3. The NFC East is not getting tougher. It's actually getting weaker. If you want to say the Redskins have gotten better, you'd be lying. The draft hasn't happened yet and they still have one of the worst offensive lines in football. The Cowboys are about the same, no better, no worse. The Giants are going straight downhill and I don't expect their coach to last much longer, even WITH a super bowl ring. Again, the draft hasn't happen yet, so things can change in 6 days.

Simply put, from my analysis, the Eagles really aren't any worse off than they were in September before last season began, but things change quickly in the NFL.

Also, to Pink Martini, simply You-Tube Terrance Cody and check his practice highlights and game tape. He's an impressive young man, but i'd say definitely overweight, even for a nose tackle. He is BY FAR THE HEAVIEST man in this years draft at 354 pounds!!! If he is gonna be a nose tackle in the NFL, the heavier the better, but you honestly can't be as athletic as necessary at that weight. He needs to shed about 15 to 20 pounds.

Take for example Vince Wilfork, pro-bowl nose tackle of THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS. Vince just so happened to just get paid a shit ton of money in a new contract. He carrys 330 and as a rookie could probably have chased my 4.7 ass down, and that scares the SHIT out of me. For that reason, i feel if he shed 15 pounds, he would not only be a two gap tackle (basically requiring a double team from the opposing O-line) but would be nimble enough to play the run effectively. Future pro Ndamukong Suh makes the largest donation any athlete has ever made to Nebraska.

That guy is a beast and his name is the sickest name ever! I would hate to be a quarterback facing him down at the line of scrimmage, he is prolly the best line man since Reggie White

    Thanks.

He was a big guy even in high school. Do NOT let that man come to a dead stop in front of you in the hallway. :smt042 I can remember running into him once or twice.

Also, didn't he weigh somewhere around 370 at the Senior Bowl?
