Webmaster, darling, is there any way to get a forum such as this better suited to mobile viewing? It makes me sad not being able to post pictures from my bfs phone, which is mostly how I get online at home. I almost got the attachment thing working but it wouldn't let me do anything when it got to the "upload from your computer" part since this isn't a computer. Hugs and kisses! Love, Persephone
Currently there is no way to upload directly using a mobile phone. You'd have to upload to a site like Photobucket, Flickr, etc. and then link to it. I did come across some other options though-- perhaps as part of a VIP membership: 1. Roaming Threads (http://www.roamingthreads.com/about): "RoamingThreads is a new forum-technology platform that enables forum users to upload roaming images to a designated thread directly from their smartphones or MMS-capable mobile phones. No longer will members have to bother with third-party sites, copying code, or image uploaders. Your forum will benefit from real-time content streams so next time you are at the hottest tech conference, the local bar, or your favorite store, you can share those moments - in the moment." Q: How much does it cost? A: Our basic service is Free and gives you 99 credits for members to upload 99 pictures via 99 email replies per month. All we get in return is for there to be a link to the Roaming Threads .How-to Guide. at the end of each post. Your images will also be thumbnailed on RoamingThreads.com with a link back to the original thread on your forum! Power users can always upgrade to our premium service later and get the ability to have emails with a 7MB attachment limit which allows for multiple images for one credit. Premium users can opt not to have a link to our site at the end of Roaming Thread posts, and they can also hide their uploads from our traffic building feed, displayed on RoamingThreads.com : 500 credits for $30 1000 credits for $50 2000 credits for $90 2. Mobile Style Plugin (latest version available soon) This option does not allow you to upload images but it does allow you to select a mobile theme in your preferences and have the forum display something like this:
My main issue was being unable to get this damn iPhone to allow me to grab the addresses to link to pics. But it's cool now because I just downloaded a photobucket app. The site still runs glitchy at times, but it could just be the browser or the fact that this 3G network shit is pretty slow.
