they're great pinky. i grew up with a horse...named him bo from the dukes of hazards. i loved that guy so much.
My friend had one we nick-named Bo ... Even had flowing blonde hair! And what a ladies man he was! :smt050
Thanks Loki, christine, and bK! And I just love the Friesian in your avi Loki! Good grief, I miss my boys. :smt086 Well, not the second so much. He was nuts! Got plenty of broken bones from him. But, they were my sanity savers, my get-away from it all.
...yeah he chases people on bicycles but he's not mean. Someone called the cops on him for chasing them and when the cop got there the dog was just chilling in a chair in the garage. The cop was like "Oh, yeah. He looks vicious."
I've known a few like that. Personally, I'm scared/iffy of them. But, only because I was attacked by one when I was 5. I've met a few that I am comfortable with though. So, I think I may get a puppy one day.
They are a lot of fun. They sleep about 2/3 of the day so they're kinda ideal in that respect, but you have to take them out of their cage and play with them several times when they are awake. They get depressed if they don't get enough human contact. But they get along with dogs and cats, and our dogs don't try to eat her either, so that worked out well. They supposedly don't imprint on one particular person like some dogs and cats do, and thus far she doesn't seem to favor my son or my daughter so that may be accurate. They are friendly, and they never bite unless you hurt them. They are fun to play with, she runs all over the game room and loves to play hide and seek with my son. They are very smart and extremely curious, they will try to explore every possible nook and cranny, so we ferret proofed our game room and that's the only room she's allowed to be loose in.
They're pretty easy Nyx. They litter box train like cats. The main thing is to take them out and let them run around and play several times a day for 30 mins to an hour at a time. I bought the ferret for my 14 yo son, as a way to teach him responsibility. He's able to be responsible, but he chooses not to be most of the time. However I suspected if he had a helpless living thing that depended upon him, he'd feel responsible for her and take care of her. It was a good thing, he does well with her, and I've only had to remind him a couple times to play with her. He's a little video game focused in his free time, so occasionally he loses track of time, but for the most part he does well with her. My daughter loves her too, so just in case the plan didn't work, I had her as a backup.
