I think this is a terrible choice but that is up to her. Some of the african culture is very much different from the european one. This will not work out. I could never do what she did. I also would not ask my g/f to move so far away and into a culture that is so different.
It's happened before and the media was all over it: Corinne Hofmann, who wrote The White Masai, which was then made into a movie.
Swazi- you gotta watch this movie, it is pretty good. Sure as hell love is blind. Watch her face at 3:30...lol.. Seeing him drinking the blood out of the cow. SHE'S VERY BRAVE. Also watch at the end where he is washing her hair. lol
You have heard about Corinne Hofmann? She is a swiss woman, lives with her daughter here..crazy story, as much as I remember it was in the 80s, isnĀ“t it?:smt038
Good luck to them both, I can see it working out providing things run smoothly, but put a stressful situation into the mix and that's when you might see the cracks, when kids and healthcare become involved you might see the issues. Other than that it's a nice story about love conquers all.
Yeah..its interesting. That English girl should watch it.See if she still wants to move there. The sucking of the blood, too gruesome.
very interesting story...i wish sin mari was still here to comment on this story...i realize that her situation is quite different but the journey may have some simularities... i couldn't do it...i do think the english woman is quite attractive...cute pixie haircut...guess her parents won't be coming to the wedding:smt009
Romantic love as far as I understand the Masai, is not really a concept they subscribe to as you marry for status etc.. and women dont really carry much value. In some texts you read, it is said that the Masai as a whole look at ww as having money and marrying a ww would then bring you that believed wealth. So is it really love conquers all kinda scenario or are the two of them having a completely different view on what they have togetherand are about to do. Culturally, Im not sure they have the same view of love and their relationship. Granted, their culture has changed dramatically with the last generation alone so that view of marriage and women might slowly change....
I've always said Go with it, if it's from the heart.. And in this instance, I feel no differently... I pray for you two, and I wish you good.. OpinionsCartoonStudios@Yahoo.Co.UK
