I disagree. I see white kids (boys in particular) who try to act hood/ghetto because they think it is the cool thing to do. They want to act like the blacks they see in videos/on tv/act like them by what they hear in the lyrics of their music. And these are normally subarban boys too.

I'm not trying to come off as being mean or anything like that.

If I did, I'll put my big girl panties on and apologize.

I see it all the time too, I think you mis-read what I said. I said there is NO such thing as acting white or acting black. What they see on TV is not what "acting black" is. It's what they (and others including certain black people themselves) believe acting black is.

But, they percive that ALL blacks act this way. So the point to what blacks actually act like is null.

Not all whites act the same do they?

Did you read what I actually typed? I agree with you. Of course not all whites act the same: that's part of my point. There's no such thing as acting black or acting white: people are individuals formed by their enviroment and how they CHOOSE to act as an individual.

There is no such thing as acting a COLOR. Is there such thing as acting like a stereotype of a color? Yes. There is no acting a color. Period. Squash that shit.

Yes I read what you wrote.

When someone believes that this is what is right, they think that is how they all act. And when another individual acts different they are looked at as not-the-norm.

Say I thought all black men were drug-dealing, low down not good for anythign baby-daddies, etc. Thats how they are choosing to act.

That is my perception on how I think that ALL black men are the same. And if I saw one who wasn't what I thoguht was norm I would say he wasn't the norm. (Thankfully, that's not my outlook).

I agree with you. Why are you telling me this, where did I say otherwise

Exactly. I agree. Personal perception does not equal factual truth. Show me where I said otherwise to your point. All I said was "there is NO such thing as acting black or white", which actually supports your point.

I don't know why people want to play dumb when this comes up. If you live in America there is indeed such a thing as acting white and acting black. Your buddy "Carter" basically came out and said I was "acting white" so there you go. "Acting white" = educated. "Acting black" = rowdy, hood, ghetto. Live with it. Ain't going away no time soon.

The problem comes in when whites automatically want to try and relate to you on that level soon as they see a black face. Talking wigger and shit. Do I look hood, motherfucker? I'm gonna start wearing my degree on my chest.

I really think that's changing at least with youth culture. I don't get the you sound white comments as often as I use to when I was younger.

Don't fool yourself that's the uneducated hoodrat's number one song. Maybe you and your immediate crowd are evolving but in general, no.

see the problem is that you did not come with the bullet proof vest rapping and speaking ebonics while holding your dick, thus this confused her.

yo yo yo biatch you gonna be me woman. you dig.

with that then she would have been more comfortable because that is what she expected.

You're probably right. Since the healthcare thing has come up its interesting to see how people think. I know a lot people who think this is more welfare for single moms with kids aka black women from the projects. There's this attitude that we should stop helping "them" and let them pull themselves up by the boot strap. My favorite line now is there isn't anymore racism Obama winning proves that. Maybe I go blinders on I don't know.
