Couples adopting kids is a good thing esp if they are great people. Would you rather have these kids be orphans the rest of their lives? Grow up in a foster home until they're 18? I would hope not.

Yeah, I always mean to mention that but forget to.

Goodlove...please stop posting polls on how good the thread is. If you're going to post a poll make it relate to the actual topic of the thread.

What is most important is that a child is brought up in a solid enviroment with parents that are willing to give that child the nuturing and universal tools neccesary to be an all around healthy and productive human being regardless of race. With the right self-esteem instilled the child won't have to worry about "what culture should I be like" but instead worry about what his or herself as an IDIVIDUAL likes.

Sure, there will be experiences that this child will face as a minority that the parents will not be able to personally relate to themselves but assuming these are loving, solid parents this doesn't even closely compare to what the child would gain from it.

    Ever the cheeky one.

I can see why cultural connection is important for a black child, but the facts remain: In the US, a white woman is more likely to have an abortion and a black woman is more likely to place their child. There are more white people than black people. Inevitably, white people will adopt black children. A thorough background check as well as a review of someone's sociocultural attitudes, where they live, etc. needs to be reviewed before they adopt any child, but especially when the child's another color than the parents.

I will say this on the issue. As long as the couple has the means and the love and devotion to raise a child and make sure they grow up to be responsible citizens in society, then I dont give a flying frack what color they are.

To adopt a child take love and dedication. To make a abandoned child one with your family and lifestyle is a major decision. Too many kids need homes in this world and if someone responsible wants to take care of them then by golly let them do it for goodness sake
