This is the best time of year for basketball fans. Forget the NBA, I love all the conference tourneys and see kids who play just because they love the game. Seeing that pure joy and excitement when they win their way into the Big Dance, that is just the appetizer. Then you get to the main course with the big dance, The first weekend being the best because you never know what surprise you are going to get which david is going to slay goliath.

I think what Jay Bilas said on ESPN about this being the weakest field may yeild for a very exciting tournament because there is no clear cut super team this year like in years past, everyone of the top seeds are vulnerable. Although after seeing the brackets I think they clearly showed some bias in making Duke the #1 in the south and giving them the "easiest" path to the final 4 putting them in the weakest of the 4 regions. All in all though I have been saying that I believe this is the year of the "out of no where" champion ie. Arz 97, Syr 04, Fla 06.

Anyway I say let the madness begin. Oh on a side note one of the things I look forward to most is the end of the tourney and One Shining Moment and this year CBS decided to revamp it again and while Jennifer Hudson is a talented woman, I think CBS made a mistake after hearing their little preview I can honestly say I did not like what I heard from her. I love the original and the Teddy Pendergras versions better.

I wish. As GZ stated, that's actress Ashley Judd. She is a regular at UK games. They recently had a 'Hoops for Haiti' auction where they auctioned off dinner for 6 with her at John Calipari's house. It sold for $98,100. Apparently, someone really wanted to have dinner with her. LOL

If you had ever offered to take me somewhere besides behind the dumpster in a dark alley, maybe you would have known it was me. LOL

Kentucky is hungry for a championship. We don't like to go this long without bringing a title home. LOL I haven't been able to keep up with the other college teams because of work so I really can't comment on them. Our team is young, but they have talent. Calipari also knows how to win games. If he can keep them settled and not let freshman nerves get in the way, I think they can go all the way, baby!!! (In my best Dick Vitale voice) LOL

Look for John Wall to make the tourney his personal showcase before he leaves for the NBA. From what I have seen, he is clutch.

It's always funny to hear the national media try to pronounce the names of those two. The nation knows who they are now. Folks here are really getting fired up about Northern Iowa. With Lucas out, I think UNI will beat Michigan State.

Why will the Kentucky Wildcats win it all?

2010 is Kentucky's year. Kentucky is clearly one of the most dominant teams in the nation, with a record of 32-2. The one aspect of Kentucky which is seen as a weakness is their lack of experience. Sure their team is full of freshman, but some of the best freshman in the nation. Four of the their players, Wall, Bledsoe, Cousins and Patterson, can arguably be considered in the category of top 10 players in the nation.

With an experienced coach and an unbelievably talented and confident team, the fact that the players don't have much experience will not effect the Wildcats. From John Wall to Eric Bledsoe, DeMarcus Cousins, and Patrick Patterson, the Wildcats have an army of diverse players who assume their role in the offense when called upon. Everyone knows John Wall is one of the best in the nation, including Eric Bledsoe.

Kentucky's 100-71 win on thursday, and their conquering defeat of Wake Forest, proves that they mean business. If Kentucky can continue to play with the same intensity they exhibited the past two games, there should be no doubt that the Wildcats will be crowned National Champions.
