Anyone see Pacquiao beat the snot out of Clottey?

He didn't beat the snot out of anybody.

Let's see what happens when he fights somebody that moves better than a pinata.

He only fights guys that are ON THE DECLINE.

the only fighter out there to give him some competition won't keep his mouth shut long enough to get the papers signed. wtf.

There are PLENTY fighters that would give that sloppy mofo trouble...his camp just won't match him with anybody that can move better than a scarecrow.

All Fanny Pac had to do was take random blood tests to fight Floyd in the biggest fight in HISTORY...but he punked-out and fought another cherrypicked DECLINING fighter.

Anybody refusing to get tested in today's drug-addled sports climate IS A CHEATING FOOL.

Manny's trainer told Shane straight to his face "we won't fight you..you're too good".....LOL.

    He's being matched amazingly..avoiding anybody with speed...lateral and head-movement.

Pacman is WIDE-OPEN down the middle...that's where Floyd is most effective.

People are already calling this clown a top 20 ATG....why fight Mayweather and spoil it??????????

I saw this last night. My first viewing of a boxing match and I kept asking, why isn't he fighting back? lol I have so much to learn.

Though it's my favorite sport, that's one of the unfortunate aspects of boxing. Many times you'll see boxers in big matches not give a great effort. That can cause matches to be excruciating to watch. On the other hand, what keeps me coming back is most matches are highly competitive.

I agree that Mayweather would certainly be competitive with Pacquiao. In my opinion, he'd beat him easily. But I don't think he's the only boxer who would be competitive. As great as he's performed over his last 10 or so matches, there are a number of good fighters in the 140 pound and 147 pound divisions who have a legitimate chance to beat Pacquiao.

Still, Mayweather's mouth seems to have been getting him paid handsomely over the last 3 years so he's going with what works.

who might some of these people be? i have to disagree with FH, sugar shane could not take out pacman. and i would dare not suggest paquiao is unbeatable, but outside of mayweather i cannot think of anyone who could think to hand it to that guy.

I believe Shane Mosley has the power to knockout anyone at and below 154 pounds. I see Shane's boxing knowledge, toughness and confidence as making a potential fight with Pacquiao even on paper.

Within Pacquiao's last 15 fights, which is when he stepped up to world class AND well known fighters beginning with Marco Antonio Barrera, one fighter (Eric Morales) beat him outright and another (Juan Manual Marquez) has a good argument for saying he beat him though the decision went the other way. Morales in his first fight with Pacquiao and Marquez in both fights gave Pacquiao his toughest challenges based on fundamentals, good chins (though both were knocked down repeatedly by Pacquiao) and punch output.

To name a few boxers I believe as having the potential to be competitive with Pacquiao are Edwin Valero: green and lacks defense but is quite heavy handed which is proven by his 100% knockout ratio, Devon Alexander: skilled fighter with fast hands, excellent temperament and ever improving confidence, Tim Bradley: doesn't do anything one thing great but is an overall nice fighter. Those are just the fighters in the 140 pound division.

In the 147 pound division besides Floyd, I already stated my position on Shane but there's also a young fighter named Andre Berto who I see as being competitive with Pacquiao.

i didn't see the morales fight, but both marquez fights were good indeed. i think pacman proved he was a fighter in those. i don't think sugar can hang but based on past unfoldings, pacman will probably fight him after mayweather finishes him off early. lol

and i'm not familiar with those other heads listed cept for berto... thanks for the research notes. i will look into em.

Pac trainers aren't as confident as you are.

They flat out ducked Shane...Mosley even agreed to drop down to 142..They still said NO DICE.

Instead they chose another DECLINING fighter...the recently KO'd Cotto.

THERE IS A STYLE MANNY HASN'T FACED:

    The Black American style.

He's wisely being kept away from all US-born Black fighters.

All he fights are straight-ahead...easy to hit fighters FRESH OFF A LOSS...

The media lets him slide because he ain't one of us.

i give it to you, you make a good point. i can't see freddie roach telling him to duck anyone, but i guess pacquiao's track record does speak volumes. i'm tired of seeing him fight bumbs. totally pointless.

You gotta move like a zombie to get a fight with the Pacman.:smt081

Manny is so wide open DOWN THE MIDDLE you can't miss the guy...Mosley and Floyd are murderous down the middle.

If Arum was planning on putting Pac in with Mayweather...HE WOULD BE MATCHING HIM BETTER against guys that fight like Floyd.

Clottey and Cotto are poor preperation for Mayweather...those guys play checkers...Floyd plays CHESS.

There's a video on youtube of Freddie admitting he told Shane "you're just to good"

Shane said "you fought Oscar at 147..why not me"????

    Roach replies:

    "Because you're not Oscar"

Here's what Freddie said about Manny's opponents since he moved-up in weight:

"Hoya can't pull the trigger anymore at 147"

"Hatton was never the same after Mayweather"

    "Cotto is damaged goods"

That is what Pacman's trainer said about these guys BEFORE they fought them.

This whole Pacman thing is a SHAM.

Who walks away from $40 million because of random blood tests:smt017:smt017:smt017 Especially in these days of cheating athletes.

i'd be interested in seeing the video you speak of. i tried to do a search to find something and came across this one...

now in this video roach is very candid, as roach always is. (which is why i respect the dude) he says shane is a tougher match up. and even says he's gotten better. (with a weird edit coming at the end of that comment) but i still can't see this guy ducking opponents. his history as a corner man doesn't suggest this. he's taken other fighters into battle that he probably knew had little chance of winning. (there was a heavier fighter he trained that got beat pretty good within the last couple years, can't think of the name at the moment) i think the guy just likes good fighting and isn't trying to cherry pick fights. now pacman's promoter on the other hand, who the f**k knows. lol

Manny has been getting cherrypicked fighters for a while now:

David Diaz- the sorriest paper champ in lightweight HISTORY.

Shot to hell drained De La Hoya- fresh from getting his eyesocket fractured by the dreaded Stevie Forbes...an guy that couldn't crack an egg at 130lbs.

Ruined Ricky Hatton- almost KTFO by LIGHTWEIGHT Juan Lazcano

Sodomized and raped Cotto- abused by the slowest WW in the long history of that acclaimed division....Margarito.

And now Clottey- a career UNDER-ACHEIVER...a fighter that snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

NONE of those guys can were on the rise

i don't disagree that recent pacquiao fights are cherry picked, i just don't think that is roach's doing. he really doesn't strike me as a "take the easy road" type of trainer. but who knows, he's been in the game for a long time, so i am sure he likes the payoffs like everybody else in big time boxing.

Freddy told Shane he would have to weigh 142 if he wants Manny. When Mosley agreed...Roach flat out told him..."look...you're too good"

I have no reason to lie.

Freddy used to box himself..he KNOWS Pac would get whipped worse than Arturo Gatti.

He can't see right hands and is WIDE OPEN DOWN THE MIDDLE.

That's bad news for anybody that can spell Mayweather:lol:

There is no way in hell he will figure out Floyd..being that he's only faced mexican/latino style fighters and WASHED-UP welterweights.

Watch what happens when somebody tests Pacman's body.....believe me.....HE WILL FOLD LIKE A BEACH TOWEL.

There is a reason they keep him away from the Brothers.

He can't handle speed and angles..especially with a jab constantly in his face.

This is a fantasy match-up! I would love to see it but Floyd won't fight him without olympic-style drug testing. I'm a Floyd fan but damn! Manny has those hands and they are hell.
