in contemporary American culture, so many self-described conservative devout Christians, who tend to be Israelophiles, don't even realize that the 'Holy Land' they hold in such high regard actually has a "socialized health care system" (for decades)!! but no fuss about Israelis having to deal with "death panels"... (there are none)

 

I can't believe you guys would debate the hatred and mistreatment of bw. In sub saharan africa they are mutilated and raped daily. They live lives where they are treated like they're less than dogs. Even in a country as diverse and open to many cultures like the US bw are marginalized. Take a look at Sorjourner Truth's poem "ain't I woman", the poem basically illustrates that in this country when we think black we think male and when we think woman we think white further promoting the marginalization of black women. I may prefer bww but it doesn't take blind me to the truth. Bw are treated like shit the world over.

 

If you said women in the Third World in general were treated worse than Western women, I might be able to roll with you. But to say that African women suffer the worst while women in China, the Middle East and the Caribbean (and after all that African-American women still have the nerve to complain) also suffer is kinda dumb in my opinion. We are getting now into a "whose pain is greater" contest, which helps no one.
