He may have fallen on hard times, but this is ridiculous!

Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D'Angelo was arrested early yesterday after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex while cruising alone through the West Village -- with $12,000 stashed in his SUV.

D'Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, was in his top-of-the-line Range Rover at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m. when he spotted a woman he took to be a prostitute, sources said.

He was arrested and charged with solicitation after asking the woman for sex, the sources said. His manager declined to comment.

There might be a little bit of truth in it but overall it sounds sensationalized. I would have to hear more about it from other news outlets before I believe it. Its a recession and everyone is trying to dig up a story to sell.

all jokes aside tho, dude is a fantastic musician. would be nice if he would refocus and put out another album. i was listening to some bootleg tracks ?uestlove posted a while ago, and those cuts were extra groovy. definitely a void in the music game that cannot be filled by any other r&b artist.

I heard one track from him recently. I wonder if one of those is what you're talking about. I was really thinking he was going to come back. I hope he does (like you said) refocus. Talent going to waste is so sad.

nah, it was great. sound quality coulda been better but its material that wasnt supposed to be released, so it is what it is.

funny, i did a search for one of the songs from that bootleg album i put the track listing up for and it said the song was removed because of Sony. so maybe he is working on something. hmm...

 

I wish he would get his act together and get back to what he does best (look sexy) and put out good music.

On January 29, 2010, an incomplete song named '1000 Deaths' was leaked on to the internet and uploaded to Youtube, it was said to possibly be from the James River album, however, after four days on February 3 it was deleted due to a copyright claim by D'Angelo.
