This is from the Post, so it's probably bullshit.... http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/busted_for_soliciting_cop_AJCQ4nnIyxooWT6e0r47DI He may have fallen on hard times, but this is ridiculous! Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D'Angelo was arrested early yesterday after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex while cruising alone through the West Village -- with $12,000 stashed in his SUV. D'Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, was in his top-of-the-line Range Rover at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m. when he spotted a woman he took to be a prostitute, sources said. He was arrested and charged with solicitation after asking the woman for sex, the sources said. His manager declined to comment. There might be a little bit of truth in it but overall it sounds sensationalized. I would have to hear more about it from other news outlets before I believe it. Its a recession and everyone is trying to dig up a story to sell.
if he had a rubber tube and a burnt spoon with him also, it is probably true. "aww..." lol http://hater site.files.wordpress.com/dangelo2.jpg all jokes aside tho, dude is a fantastic musician. would be nice if he would refocus and put out another album. i was listening to some bootleg tracks ?uestlove posted a while ago, and those cuts were extra groovy. definitely a void in the music game that cannot be filled by any other r&b artist.
I heard one track from him recently. I wonder if one of those is what you're talking about. I was really thinking he was going to come back. I hope he does (like you said) refocus. Talent going to waste is so sad.
the bootleg release was called YODA. (apparently that whole soulquarians crew uses star wars characters as alias. blaim it on the weed. lol) track listing... 1. Features 2. Really Love 3. I Found My Smile Again 4. Your Love Is So Good 5. Heaven Must Be Like This 6. Everybody Loves The Sunshine (Live Cover) 7. Superman Lover (Live Cover) 8. Devil's Pie (Live) 9. Send It On Me (Live) 10. Can't Hide Love (Live Cover) 11. I'm So Glad Your Mine (Al Green Live Cover) 12. Sweet Sticky Green (Ohio Players Live Cover) 13. Sexy Little Things You Do (Live) 14. She's Always In My Hair (Prince Cover) 15. Go Back 2 That Thing apparently there was a Yoda II release. i think i will be downloading that tomorrow. lol
if he has new material, i want to hear it! i'll definitely make sure to catch a concert if he ever decides to tour again. i know the band has to be sick!!
I emailed the YouTube link to my boy. I went to open it and look what it said: This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Michael Archer. LOL! I've never seen that before.
nah, it was great. sound quality coulda been better but its material that wasnt supposed to be released, so it is what it is. there's not a lot of it on youtube, but here is one of the cover songs. funny, i did a search for one of the songs from that bootleg album i put the track listing up for and it said the song was removed because of Sony. so maybe he is working on something. hmm...
I wish he would get his act together and get back to what he does best (look sexy) and put out good music. It wasn't a remake, it was some new shit. Damn! I can't remember the title.
from wiki... On January 29, 2010, an incomplete song named '1000 Deaths' was leaked on to the internet and uploaded to Youtube, it was said to possibly be from the James River album, however, after four days on February 3 it was deleted due to a copyright claim by D'Angelo.
