i dont care what people say in polls or anything like that, but when they see a interracial couple walking down the street they will do a catch 22, look back and make sure what they saw is what they saw, and thats everyone, not just whites. it is not wrong, it is just uncommon, it is what it is, which is taboo for now, and thats fine, just need more time for more people to mix, then that label will go away.
we do have a lot of wm/aw and am/ww couples here and they get no looks at all...the bm/ww couples still do but they are becoming more common these days
if you look at census stats though, youll see the number of interracial couples is microscopic, which is why people will look astonished sometimes when they see a white girl with a black guy or whatever racial mix, because you rarely ever see it. its taboo, mysterious, interests people.
It also depends on where you are. Here in L.A., it's not that uncommon to see IR couples. I mean when I see them, I personally smile inside. Other cities, it's still a rare occurrence.
Ditto here. No one gets stares around here, and IR is pretty prevalent with BM/WW being the most common IR couple I see.
Makes me wonder where some of these people live. I haven't experienced all this "taboo" they keep talking about. Never got overt stares from anybody, always met my dates' parents no problem (sometimes I'd like mom and dad more than the girl!), never had any trouble. I think some people like to make it more than what it is to get attention and drama.

I shouldn't have to remind you much of the country is ass-backwards should I? As for statistics, just about 2% of White Women are involved with men other than White. About 3% of Black Men are married to somebody other than a Black Woman. But out of 300,000,000 people ummmm I should remind you 1% is over a MILLION People. Hardly the tiny numbers you suggest and I can almost assure you those numbers have DOUBLED from 2000 the last Census to the 2010 Census when those numbers should be available near the end of the year, but some projections are already starting to be made. How much of the population has to be involved in IR for you to notice in your neck of the woods?????? In major urban cities the world over have IR couples floating around even those without a significant Black populations.
