yea, slim has had a rough past couple of years. i hope his story has an upswing when his career finally ends. would be a shame if he kept spiraling out of control.
I agree. He's been my favorite player and every time I've turned around, there's something going on with him. I guess his wife got tired of his cheating, clubbing or whatever else he's been doing besides playing b-ball.
AI refuses to play off the bench but yet he feels entitled to go to whichever practice game he wants. He is very gifted but cocky at the same time. I hope he wises up upon these hard times before its too late to get himself a ring. I believe he will work things out with his wife since they've been together for so many years.

AI has left the NBA because of the illness of his 4-year-old daughter, Messiah, whom he is taking care of.
That was supposedly the reason. Then if you check the blogs, people were mad at him cause he was seen out clubbing when his daughter is/was sick. Then in the midst of him taking a leave of absence from playing, his wife divorces him. There's more to this story.
According to Stephen A. Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer, AI has drinking and gambling problems. Smith wrote, "According to several NBA sources with knowledge of the situation, Iverson has been troubled by excessive drinking. His legal problems include a number of civil lawsuits." One NBA official told Smith: "Drinking and the casinos: Allen was always doing one thing, or was at the other. No one who knows him can deny it."
I think he’s going have more issues especially if he’s done playing, To me he’s not the type of person once the limelight is gone to have a quiet normal trouble free life outside of basketball at least not at this stage of his life. That adjust is going to be rough for him in my opinion. I don't know what type of characters he's hanging around (on the other hand this is A.I so I could imagine they are probably not the most desirable) but he's needs some mature well grounded individuals that's going to lead him in a positive direction.
This really isn't news in my opinion. This season had "disaster" written all over it for "The Answer". He signs with the only team that showed even a modicum of interest (The Memphis Grizzlies) and did so despite not ever wanting to play for them. He then "retires" which is a laughable word to use for someone who simply quit. This was proven true when a short time later, the Philadelphia 76ers came calling and Iverson immediately answered. He plays a few games and a few flashes of his old brilliance on the court are there to be seen. Of course that can't last too long because this is Iverson. So the 76ers try to help him save face by saying he's not returning because of his daughter's health problems when every sound mind knows he either quit or received a pink slip. Health issues? I doubt his wife would file for divorce at such a time if his daughter's health was really deteriorating. Nothing else needs to be said.
