Stevie Wonder is blind but he is multi millionaire and has had an amazingly successful career, but would anyone seriously use his success to argue the case that blind people have it just as good as sighted people ? Madam C J Walker was the first black female millionaress in the USA, but this was in 1901, a year that 61 black people were lynched and hung (One a week)

But surely no one would suggest that Madame C.J. Walker's success, even at a time of legally-codified terrorism against black folks, should stand as evidence that anyone in the black community could have made it. The same logic applies to Shani Davis, sure he is successful but his success was not achieved because of the system, his success was achieved in spite of system. I always find it funny the way white people and some black people pick out one successful black person as if it to say "LOOK !! LOOK !! They are black !! And they made it !! THE SYSTEM WORKS !!"

Anyway all I am saying is the winter Olympics is not a proper festival of sport as very few of the people in the world participate in it, it's just a jamboree of white people trying to show the world how great they are, but their achivements are only happening because black people have not showed up. In fact this Shani Davis proves my point, here we have the only black speed skater out there and we have loads of other white speed skaters, but he just happens to be the best. As I said, IT'S NOT A SPORT WITHOUT BLACK PEOPLE

You move to where you can train. Look at any athletes bio and you will see they say they have moved. The Olympic Training Center headquarters in the US is in Colorado Springs. Do you think all Olympic athletes are from Colorado Springs? Uhhh.........no they moved there to train.

And yes espy I noticed that. Could it be the beloved aybee-j?? They both like rape too. Just an observation.

Tonight, I'm going to watch Figure Skating. It's going to be very, very interesting.

Speaking of Figure Skating, I saw most americans are not represent this country, but rather to represent another countries. That got many Americans mad, considering them a traitors.

    How stupid is that?

Look at that Lindsay Vonn women, the one who won Olympic gold in the Skiing for USA. This is fresh from her wikipedia page,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindsey_Vonn

    ------------------------
"She was on skis at age 2 before moving into Erich Sailer's renowned development program at Buck Hill, which also produced slalom racer Kristina Koznick. Her father, Alan Kildow, who had been a national junior skiing champion before a knee injury at 18, "pushed" her very hard, according to Sailer"
    -------------------------

She first was put on ski's at the age of two (Something to which most people in the world can't) then she was put into a top training camp, (Something to which most people can't) and this was helped by her father being a national champ, so she already had connections in the sport and she had a very good start in life, in terms of her wanting to be a skier.

Yet few whites think of their position as resulting from racial preference. Don't get me wrong, this Vonn girl worked hard work and had ambition, but her hard work had been met with access to an opportunity structure to which millions of others have been denied similar access.

You ever skied in Minnesota?? :smt043 It sucks.

You have all these imagined scenarios that have to do with the whiteness. Her family MOVED to Vail when they saw she had talent. SACRIFICE. Her parents divorced. So her mom was a single mom helping her develop her talent. Did you ever think athletic ability is inherited? It is. I doubt her father was connecting her up if they weren't speaking. Thank you ab-j. Enough of your whining.

Vonn inherited her passion for the sport from her father, Alan Kildow, a former ski racer whose career was cut short by a knee injury. But it was Vonn’s mother, Linda, who accompanied her daughter to Vail, Colorado, in 1997 when Lindsey’s talent for skiing needed proper nurturing. The rest of the family – including triplets – followed a year later, but Alan and Linda divorced in 2003, putting a severe strain on the relationship between father and daughter.

I agree to this excellent point JC. It comes down to opportunity and options, sadly most minorities do not have these luxury due to deniro or exposure issues

I don't know about your city GZ but in mine there are poor non-minority people too. I suppose they are a novelty.

That is why the public school system here has the program I mentioned above to make winter sports more affordable/accessible.

What it really boils down to is alot of the population don't have the athletic talent to compete at this level regardless of their color or status in life. Me included. It just ain't happening. You could put me in the right spot, sponsor me, give me the greatest trainers or do whatever and I will still never compete in the Olympics. I am also a wimp who would fold under all the sacrifice it takes.

    thats wrong..

    black people can't be racists....
