Black male/white female relationships are more taboo now a days also. Generally speaking, white men are the ones in power; some white men may feel threatened by black men dating white women and decide to do something about it. White women aren't threatened by black women, and White men definitely aren't threatened by black women.

 

I don't think white men are threatened by black men either, some of them are just arrogant about their race. Some of them believe the white race is superior race. White men think black men want to be like them not the other way around in which white men want to be like black men. They expect white women to be desired by black men simply because they are white. As long as the notion that being white is the standard everyone should try to be, then white men will always have the power.

Are you serious ? Society as a whole is clearly threatned by black men on many different levels: men of other races are threatened by the endowment( mythical or factual) of black men; they are threatened by our hyper-masculinity; some of them find us physically threatening, and perceive us(black men) to be crimminals.

True, but when she said that being white was the standard and "white men will always have the power" just gave me a feeling that she may be a white male. It's one thing for a black woman to say that white men generally are more successful, make better fathers, are more respectful, yadda yadda yadda(typical BW rhetoric) ; it's another thing for a black woman ,or person, to say that being white is the standard, and that white men will always have the power.

 

Many black women do idealize white men to spite black men;however, her statement "white men will always have the power" was just a bit much to me.
