The reason I posted this here is because I wanted to know the gentleman think about this. I just got back from getting my nails done and I think they look good but I have heard some people say that fake nails in general look trashy. So boys, whats your take on the fake nails? EDIT: Okay so sorry about that whole no girls post thing I just have had a lot of girls be a little bit too rude about my nails and its been grating on my nerves. I don't know if that makes up for the no ladies comment but I hope it explains it.
Well, I know you don't want to know what women think. But I agree that they generally look trashy, but it depends how they're done. If they're relatively short, and a neutral colour (or french manicure), they don't look so bad. But if they're long and colourful, ewww! That's what I would call 'bogan' (Australian for 'White trash'). If they're acrylic, they're also extremely bad for your real nails.
I do. Well done nails are sexy. Personally, I think that women with super long, Freddy Frueger like fake nails do look trashy.
lol nice one! I meant for Aesthetics as well as if they are real or not. How often do you hear a guy judging a woman off her nails? oh she has beautiful nails. Now, that's a girl I can date. lol
Another girl's opinion here... I hate, nay, despise fake nails! I just think they LOOK fake which makes them look ugly. I am not against fake things, just think fake nails look hideous (Sorry to all my fake nail having sisters!).

no I know. I kind of figured that. I just was hoping to get the guys to respond more lol. I agree with the whole freddy crouger thing tho. my nails are short and french tipped. also I dont get acrylic i get the gel nails if that nakes a difference lol
i am not good with all this done my nails 2 times once was years ago it was a little long funny is when i came home and later went to wash some dishes one dish fall and broke my nail so had to remove them at home with a knife lol didnt want to spend more money for something didnt enjoy anyway second time wanted to try again it look good short and as much natural you can go i like it but i can never see myself going every few weeks and do this again, best is grow your own nails looks better and more comfortable i can not do that, mine break very fast if grow a little... so i keep my nail short put a nice polish nail and thats all
I'm not a girly-girl, so my nails are never nice looking. LOL. I did get fake nails once - for my wedding. They were nicely done and it felt nice to have nails. My real ones have never been strong, so they don't grow out much and when they do, they split. So, I've never been one to worry about my nails. However, I'm with all of the others. The super long ones look ridiculous to me. If they're fake, but well-done and short and neat looking, then that's a good thing.
lippy is a natural nail girl...i do my own nails and wont let anyone else touch them...they geow really fast and are very strong...i keep them short and always polished...i love nail polish..it is a guilty pleasure... i like acrylic if they are kept short and well cared for...i do not understand the too long of nails mentality...i am also not a big fan of designs on nails...maybe on the toes! when it comes to hands and feet...i kinda feel like if you are going to wear polish then you have to keep up on the maintenence it takes to keep them presentable..i would rather see a woman go au natural then see chipped uncared for nails :smt024
See that's my dilemma. If I try to put nail polish on it looks like my hands were splatter painted lol. Also I bite my nails but when I have fake nails I won't bite at them so in order for me to have pretty nails I have to get fake ones.
Espy, those are hideous and sooooo popular here. lol I find it entertaining to see what the girls have on their hands - always so original and completely non-functional. To each their own I suppose.
Good to have you back Athena, you were missed! I agree those are not something I would ever have, and I like mine long, but not that long! I'm not sure how you would get anything done with those? But I suppose you would get a lot of attention, not necessarily positive, but to some people any attention is good.
No they are not. LOL! I actually don't even like to paint mine, I prefer them bare or french tipped. Though during the winter I do have them painted, I stick to one color, and they are never that long. IMO those are really hideous.
