In the beginning it took me a month before I signed up for this forum. I wanted to make sure that this forum had the quality of people that I would want to associate with on the internet. When I finally signed up I already knew who I wanted to send friend request too. I sent request to people who I felt had the most original post and the most original ideas. I didn't agree with the ideas of everyone that I sent friend request to but I respected their authority on issues that they were passionate about. I respect originality. I don't have to agree with everybody because friction creates fire, and fire lights up a room ultimately revealing things that I've never seen before. I know everyone does not feel that way. I just know that I didn't send my friend request out in vain. What I take from espy's post is maybe its better to post then pick up friends along the way. I'm still new to this community so I'm still taking it all in.

    Peace

So far, my friends list has meant nothing. I don't really know what it does. I've accepted every friend request I've gotten as a result. Most of the people up there are people I'm very proud to have there. About 2, maybe 3, are from trolls, but I accepted them too.

Because I am a lazy, lazy girl, and accepting just seems easier. :p

None of the "friends" I accepted "friendships" from on here have shown up at my house yet. Don't know what I will do if they do. :smt042

Just saying they aren't real friendships and you can always break them later if you decide they don't meet your criteria.

Honestly it was the correlation between accepting someone as a friend and then getting several IMs from complete strangers daily that was bugging me. I fixed it by deleting my Yahoo and Skype info, so shouldn't be an issue in the future.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts on the matter.

Chris-which new market are you referring to? Are these markets in francophone parts of africa, English speaking parts? south? the north where the arabs dominate? or East where tribalism has been an issue for while?
