Rape is about dominance, power, and control. It most often has very little to do with attraction. The rapist tends to either choose a victim that reminds him of a woman he has issues with, or he chooses a victim that is convenient and an easy target. If it was about attraction you wouldn't have 20 year old men raping 80 year old women.

It wasn't as big a deal as Candice Bergen becoming a Single Mother in the media and in political circles, but Molly having a Bi-Racial child in the early 90's didn't seem to cause that much drama though the show was critically loved, it never did that well overall.
