I got my haircut tonight and I'm strangely ambivalent about it. I'm very decisive and I don't regret decisions once they're made, but I'm just not sure how I feel about this at the moment. I gave it a lot of thought, but somehow when 4 inches of my hair was lying on the floor it gave me pause. I'm hoping it's just a symptom of my current mood and I'll wake up tomorrow and be back to my usual 'who gives a damn, it's just hair, it'll grow back' attitude. It's not like I'm going to cry myself to sleep or slit my wrists, it is just hair after all, I'm just suddenly nostalgic about the missing 4 inches. I am thankful I only had her take it off the front to give me bangs, if I'd cut the back too I might be really despondent right about now.

 

I got my long hair all chopped off last week too. I wondered if I had done the right thing for the first few days, I am happy with it now though. Hope it grows on you. No pun intended

 

and it's a gorgeous cut as well jabl, never thought you could look more beautiful than you are, but the cut has done it...!!! :smt054

I just sent my baby off to a job interview. I hope I got him prepared, but I'm off my game this morning cause I'm still sick as hell.

I only have about 6 hours to get well, though, cause I got an interview with the same place this evening. I guess I'll have to fake it.

It's just a crappy job, but much better than the ones we both already have cause we're talking actually getting 20 hrs a week vs none or 4 which is the average. Plus it's closer than either of our jobs, and it's not exactly rocket science so it should be simple grunt work.

The best part is if we get these jobs (they're looking for at least two people) in a few more months when our leases are up (at the same time thank the gods) we can get the FUCK out of student housing. And get our own damn place somewhere actually close to school. Plus without "No coed" rules we can finally share a room and we even got two possible roommates to split a two bedroom with so we can all have a nicer, bigger apartment and smaller bills.

I wanted to be a student RA here in housing but they're giving me the run around over it so I'm like fuck it. I only wanted it for the free housing anyhow, but if I can get outta here my rent split 4 ways is only gonna be like 200 bucks max. I'll be able to make almost the whole amount in one week at this crappy job (if I get it) so that would be SWEET. Less worries, no more housing people looking over my shoulder, no more stupid no alcohol rules to follow despite my being 25 fucking years old and very deserving of the occasional beer.

Summary: I want this crappy job. Nate wants this crappy job. Cross ya fingers for us.

At least he looked damn good walking out of here this morning. I love interview days cause my baby cleans up sooooo nice.

I'm not really. lol But on the upside it should be fine. He's got a second interview tomorrow, and from the way he talked I should land one as well so long as we're right about them needing at least two people. Only thing that'll mess it up is if they're more looking for one instead, but it -should- be two. It's a semi fast food restaurant so the turnover rate for employment is, as usual, out the roof so they technically should always be looking for new people. lol

I'm just going nuts cause I'm deaf in my left ear still, and I can't bloody stand that. It's so annoying!!!!!

 

Oh man DH, that sucks! I had that happen once when I was too close to a shotgun being fired and I couldn't hear for several days and then when it did come back it was ringing and static for a couple days. Drove me nuts.

If the ear thing is because of being ill, you might try using a Q-tip to put a couple drops of rubbing alcohol into your ear. It'll dry up any water/fluid trapped.

 

Glad yours grew on you JABL. I think I'm going to like it, it just takes a little getting used to. At least I've stopped being shocked every time I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror, that's progress.

 

When are you ladies going to learn, STOP CHOPPING YOUR HAIR OFF. WHITE WOMEN ARE KNOWN FOR FLOWING LOCKS. "Felicity" chopped off her hair and her show got cancelled.

 

I didn't chop it off, I just got the front trimmed and layered, which honestly isn't helping the curly situation. I have no intention of cutting any length off, possibly for a couple years. I figure when it's down to my ass, then I'll think about cutting it.

 

Just thank your lucky strs your hair ai t like my moms. Hers is to her ass now and straight and thick as hell. She can't do anything with it lol but her religion won't allow her to get a cut so she's stuck

i'm having one of those "i'm so happy i can burst" kind of days, so expect lots of fluffy love and kittens seeping out of every pore....just warning ya'll...!!! :smt026

 

The men have to. Their hair must be kept trimmed and neat. Except for the crochity old guys. They seem to have earned shaggy hair and beards for some reason.

The women aren't allowed to wear anything but dresses and long skirts, all very modest and mostly plain. No make up, no jewelry aside from wedding rings, and I think they might not even be allowed to wear contacts. Maybe clear ones but definetly not colours. No nail polish or acrylic nails, either.

She baptist, but it's a backwoods version called "Old Regular Baptist". They're like watered down Amish. She can't listen to any music that isn't bluegrass gospel though they mostly frown on anything that isn't vocal only. Their music is general choral harmonies similar to those that Kentucky bluegrass showcases but obviously without the musical instruments.

It's a very strange religion.

 

And Me and Nate both got second interviews tomorrow btw!!!!
