his statements were very bizarre, all over the place.. it was hard to get a grip on just what he was getting at, in trying to explain his alleged "appeal" to black audiences, or why he avoids sex with black women.. he only mentioned black women with "crosssover/suburban" followings, with "white guy appeal"... back when holly robinson was on 21 jump street, she was one of the few young black women on prime Time TV, sometimes paired with a white boyfriend on the show.. Same thing with Karyn Parsons "Hilary" on the Fresh Prince show, plus she was light-skinned.. with Kerry Washington, apparently her most recent fiancee' was white, plus in that Lakeview Terrace film, her husband was a white guy..

John Meyer is well John Meyer

As a blac woman, I didn't find what John said anymore than what anyone else would have said. I give him points for honesty. On the real, I thought the questions were pretty dumb in the first place.

If a black male celeb gave an interview where he pretty much said he wasn't feeling sistas, you'd be coming after him with burning torches and nooses. As always though the white boy gets a pass.

To be fair society in general tends to give people a pass if they are not attracted to individuals outside their own race.

hahaha you might be right or wrong. it kind of depends on if the black male celeb is a hottie or not, for example if Will Smith said it he would break my ffn heart!!!!!:smt022:smt022Calton (Roberto) not so much:neutral:

i just never found Meyer attractive although i love his music and he is gifted, he didn't get the pass because he was white, he got it because he is John Meyer. Just like Kanye is well, Kanye:smt017

A black male compared his penis to a white supremacist when it comes to his own people, yes I think it would be logical to be very upset. :smt011

Will Smith is married to Jada Pinkett, why would he say that?

+1 with bubblegum and a fresh cut from the foul line

I agree with you Petty, but I think what got folks all riled up was his 'my dick's a white supremacist' statement, and use of the N word. I don't necessarily think that's confirmation he's racist, possibly just an idiot who should think before he speaks. He's since apologized and said he's done with interviews, which sounds like a good plan for him.

well I did say 'if,' just in case something else arose because I didn't click on any links et al

his choice of wording is daft, even if he meant that statement as a metaphor for attraction.
