what do you think it will take to have a good IR in todays world and behind close doors between you and your love one ? especially here in america it could be very challenging. if it is different in other parts of the world ...please do tell.

I have yet to date IR but I believe that women are women and men are men. I also believe there MAYBE extra challenges dating IR but I dont know so you will have to enlighten me on that point.

I was married but it failed so I dont want to go thru that again so it would be nice to get educated on that point. again I believe people are people thus the hue of your skin should not be an issue but we are living in a world that judges you on your color ( sometimes).

You are correct that some will judge us based on the colour of our skin. For example, my man's mother and her side of the family are not my #1 fans in part due to the colour of my skin. The other part is that I am not from their country either. Apparently to them, it's evil to be with a white woman. I don't know if they feel that way about BW/WM pairings....

There are some good answers in here but MOST importantly is making sure you are ignoring your emotions for a second and marrying someone that you know that you can live, work and build with. Making sure it's someone that fits you in a PRACTICAL way not just emotionally. Remember emotions and sex are great but they are blind.

Don't let society make you feel you have to rush to be married either. Being single is much better than being in a horrible marriage. Take time to feel someone out and see how they cope and interact when things aren't so smooth. The hardest is realizing sometimes you have to cut loose someone you truely love.

Alot of people get married and the initial rush and good emotions of young relationships blind them to major red flags.

Quite possibly the best advice offered thus far. If you approach marriage as a forever proposition, you really need to know who it is you are marrying. You never truly know someone until you've seen them react to a crisis, that's when you find out who they are and what they're made of.

This is why I 100% believe in living together first, before getting married.

Absolutely FG. I would not marry someone I hadn't lived with first, good point.
